Denim Discussion for all things Denim.
Nothing in Catalog.

I shall start. anyone have any experience/pics with this shade of denim fading? Bought'em for the summer and curious as to how they'll be in a couple months.

People ask this a lot. I honestly don't think N&F's are a good first pair of raws. That being said, my first pair were N&F's. The fit is fucking wonky on all of them, more so the weird guy. The fabric is neat and outlandish, but I feel like you should look for more solid and classic pairs for your first pair. Rogue Territory is pretty dope, they have some weird aesthetics going on but nothing out there. APC honestly isn't that bad, a lot of "denim heads" will talk shit on it but I really like the notions on them and fabric isn't all that bad.

The reason I bring up alternatives is because N&F are notorious for 2 things: weird fabrics and weird cuts. If you're looking to get into denim, I just don't think it's the right way to go.

>> No.8083236

How to incorporate denim that isn't black into SLP fits..? I'm #TeamHedi 4 lyfe, and even though I have 5 pairs of black jeans I think people think I wear the same ones all the time... Their darkness varies and so do the fits a bit, but you know how ppl are...

I started off with skinny guys, and they fit fine with some mad stax with a person who 5'7 like me. But what gets n&f a bad rap is just the cuts they make, the weird guys cut is a huge baggy tent mess that you'll need to require tailoring on.

check out some of oak nyc's modelling with indigo raws, it's pretty cool when it stacks over high tops/boots with a black top
http://www.oaknyc.com/raw-indigo-black-van-winkle-jean.html

I don't know what the fuck is going on in the op pic (mine are very very dark indigo, is this a new 2014 model?) but this pair is from last summer and this is all they've faded. Really high contrast fades, but not many.

I've got a pair of black Samurai 710s (their slimmest cut aside from the 3JPs which don't come in black) but I don't think they're skinny enough. Should I go to a tailor and get them tapered, or leave them as-is, seeing as I paid nearly $400 for them? Right now I pinroll them whenever I wear them.

I've only had them a couple weeks now, so I can't say much about longevity atm. They seem to be pretty well constructed. I haven't owned any of the GOAT brands like pbj or samurai so I can't really compare to those. My only complaint is that the selvedge on the left leg got pressed into a fold around the thigh, not that it's visible from the outside.

It's a great pair of jeans when you have them hemmed and tapered.

How come no one ever talks about Nudies anymore? They seem to have some really nice prefaded stuff, and I'm into that seeing as my only good raws right now are black and I don't really like 'regular blue jeans'. For me, nothing between the color of OP's pic and jet black really has a place in my wardrobe.

I like my N+F weird guys. I tapered them below the knee though, they were kinda baggy round the shins and the leg opening was too big
