around $80-150
a little more for a clean gold filled model

Lots of people hate on Nomos, others like them.

If their aesthetics float your bout they're a good choice. Right above the 5k mark there's Glashutte Originals which are really nice. You could also choose the classic Speedmaster Professional for about $3k if it tickles you. Again on the higher level you're into nice used watches like old Rolex explorers. If you're like me and more interested in cool engineering than original movement technology, Sinn all the way.

Basically you can't go wrong with just about any of those.

just spent some time looking up the brand. their own webpage wouldn't load for me, but based on the reviews I have read, they score zero points on the "heritage" scale- I see no evidence that the company has existed for more than a few years. Quality appears to be acceptable if you buy them at the steep discount at which they can be had (a $350 watch permanently at $150 may only be worth $40). One reviewer puts them alongside Invicta and Sturhling, and that seems pretty fair. I will give them design points, though. The example you posted does have some issues as anon pointed out, but it would definitely get a lot of compliments.

If you really love the design, get one on sale. If you value brand history at all (as most watch enthusiasts do), steer clear.

I picked this up in a Prague antique shop.

Worked great for around a year until the back fell off and one of the wires inside got bent out of shape.

I took it to three different vintage watch workshops. Due to the age of the watch and the problem of finding the Russian parts the repair would cost more than the value of the watch itself.

Shame because I did really like it. Oh well. Theres plenty of old Russian watches on eBay.

I don't think you understand how spring drive works

>> No.8092682

>>8092669
"glorified" implies that there is no significant difference between the spring drive and a quartz. but the spring drive is chock full of cool stuff. a regular quartz watch does not have a continuous second hand sweep

>> No.8092692

>> No.8092713

It's still electronic, it's still a quartz no one will care about in a few decades (and it's not like people give a shit about this now).

unless your mixtape is droppin, you shouldn't wear a watch with rocks especially if you're white, just sayin
breitlings are tacky enough w/o the diamond bezel, is it original at least?
also why shaving the hand? looks pretty retarded, just embrace the hair

>> No.8092761

>>8092713
>implying

If you're too shallow to look past the fact that it has a quartz oscillator purely for regulation over a traditional escapement and yet none of the other features found on a common quartz watch like batteries and motors well then you can't be helped. You're more than welcome to personally prefer an entirely mechanical watch but at least know your shit before you knock others.

silver watch + white dial, more formal than casual

silver watch + dial, more versatile, can be formal but casual too depending on the clothes complimenting it

also it's stainless steel in 99% of "silver" watches. The rest are white gold or titanium etc
