Brown aligator or croc imitation wide as your whole watch, probably 24mm and then cut it to lug size or give it to professional to do that because you can easily fuck it up.
Real croc and gator are expensive as fuck and it's not worth it.
Watch is pretty nice and repairs aren't that expensive since Seiko has ton of spare parts.
Also don't buy cheapest strap, for $30-$40 you'll be pretty sure to get good strap quality... Just don't go sub $20 because it's generally shit.

Vostok is good budget mechanical watch but seriously I would never buy chrome plated watch in diver or any other heavy use style.
Amphibians are usually stainless steel but i read somewhere that they started to use brass cases for these round models...

Also I hate budget mechanical watches, if you don't have cash for some in-house movement brand such as Rolex, Patek, A.Lange or Grand Seiko then just stay with quartz... Saves time and service money...

One of these is great too. Accurate up to ±5 seconds a month You could leave it in a cave for a decade and it would only be around 15 minutes off. Probably even less as cave temperatures are stable.

The calculator can do constant-based operations and exponents. It also has an hourly chime, which I'm finding helps me keep focused.

Ordered a black nato strap last week. Should be here tomorrow. Which is great because the included strap sucks.

if you are only looking to satisfy yourself, do what you will- there's nothing wrong with that

but just the same as there are different styles and brands of clothing that garner more or less regard in the realm of clothing, different watch companies have different degrees of heritage. the very best ones make all of their movements in-house with skilled watchmakers. many use ETA or Miyota movements but otherwise design the watches themselves. but one thing a lot of these companies have in common is that they have been around for a century

by comparison, brand new companies that buy inexpensive quartz movements and put them in cases that mix the latest trends with designs that far predate the inception of the brand seem, well, opportunistic. like they don't have anything of value to say, they are just here to make money. I know it sounds romantic, but authenticity is a highly prized thing among watch enthusiasts

an example of a young company doing things right is Nomos Glashütte. founded in 1990, they have been making their own movements since 2005 (which is, again, a pretty big deal), and they have an iconic interpretation of Bauhaus design under their belts

it doesn't matter if it's armani, kors or dkny or anything else
at the same time these brands cannot afford the luxury to sell shit tier watches, so they must be at least ok quality, but i wouldn't recommend/wear them
for instance the armani, kors & dkny watches are made by fossil (assembled in china, using chinese and japan movements), would you pay hundreds of dollars for a watch like that, just because there's a designer logo on it?
these watches only worth the price, when they're on at least 50% off sale, but then again, i still wouldn't buy them
even in this few hundred dollars range, you can purchase better watches

I had one but let it go because the stock bracelet has those polished middle pieces which I don't like, and it's nearly impossible to fit leather or anything else that isn't very thin NATO to the watch. A swatch that isn't actually retarded. I'm impressed.

I remember when they came out in the 80s. Everyone wore one and they were fucking stupid.

>OOO A WATCH THAT'S JUST HANDS NO WRITING ON IT. LET'S SPEND ENOUGH TO BUY A NICE PAIR OF JEANS ON THAT.

So glad that decade's dead, along with its retro ressurection.

Actually it was Guess, not Swatch. My memory's faded. Still, Swatches were dumb too. They were all pastel and clear. And they also didn't have numbers. Just little tick marks. Because Guess was doing the no-writing thing.

Never understood why anyone would wear watch as a fashion statement. They're uncomfortable. If you're going to suffer at least get something out of it.

oh look, a fashion watch which is actually Swiss Made, how awesome
still not a fan of it especially for $13k
>>7964382
i'm pretty sure if i'd have $55k to spend on a watch, i wouldn't spend it on a RL, don't matter who made the movement
i'd just buy the real deal, a Breguet for instance

RL is a fucking cancer in the watch making industry who try to position themselves on the same level as traditional watch manufacturers with 250 hundred year old history and sell their watches for the same price and they can do that, because there will always be "been had polo" guys who will buy those
