Hey /fa/, some guy on /k/ and I are making reproductions of some rare camo patterns.
In our bantering about milsurp we've found that hipsters have made some disgusting abortions out of rare camo stuff (will post in thread).
So my questions to you guys are:
What items of clothing or accessories would these camos work on?
What do causal non-/fa/ people want to buy with camo on?
What would you guys throw all your money at?

I'm also somewhat interested in what you guys feel about camo in fashion in general.

In my opinion camo only looks good on field shirts, jackets and parkas.

He'll make reproductions of the orignial Field jackets and shirts out of it along with some t-shirts out of the test batch of the print.

IMO, camo, as a current trend, is encroaching on played out, if not already. But of course it'll always be around.

>What items of clothing or accessories would these camos work on?
I personally only like camo outerwear: anything else is too much.
>What do causal non-/fa/ people want to buy with camo on?
Plebs will pleb. Anything.
>What would you guys throw all your money at?
I never throw all my money at anything. But I'd be interested in some outerwear.

>What items of clothing or accessories would these camos work on?
Outerwear is always best for camo in my opinion, actual military cuts in particular. Field jackets, parka's, field shirts, you know. Perhaps a duffle bag or simple backpack might work as well.

>What do causal non-/fa/ people want to buy with camo on?
Now that it's still in style, they'll buy anything camo (like the other anon suggested). If you want to play it safe, camo cargo shorts will always have an audience.

>What would you guys throw all your money at?
I'd buy a decent m65 with rarely seen camo any day.

This pattern is currently being digitalized.
Think he (the other guy, milsurp collector and merchant on /k/) just wants to troll the serious collectors by taking one of the rarest camos in existance and making it available for cheap.
I think these shirts, which there are like 4 of still in existance, beats all of /fa/ in stupid money for clothes you won't wear anyway.

>> No.7844966

>>7844919
not trolling but what exactly makes camo rare?
i know that diff environments call for different patterns but why are patterns rare?
difficulty to reproduce? impracticality in the field? obsoletion/replacement?
or is it individual pieces that are rare? i.e. the shirt you posted

I'm not a collector myself, but I'm guessing mainly quantity, if it's from a rare country Zaire or Syria, if it's been issued or is just a trial / prototype pattern.
This shirt has the pattern hand-drawn and was only issued to like the top tier special forces too.
Think the guy he got the source pics from paid like 10000€ for it.

I says that Ponchardier obtained the commando to hold a sector near the morrocan frontier called Nemours. He wanted to apply the same techniques he learned during the indochine war. He says after how they was equiped and approved by the french government. As he chose some high trained soldiers with him it was a very effective commando but eventually got dissolved. The author admires this commando saying it was really an elite commando, always ready, effective, etc. They killed 600 rebels, took 79 weapons,60 grenades, 30 radio posts, 15 mines, 400 hideouts which 18 were occupied. He says it was possible because of the decisive actions of commandant Delayen.

I skipped mainly of the first page because it is full of names of people who worked to create this commando (mainly administrative)

The commando YATAGAN was a counter-guerillla unit composed of algerian volunteers (harkis and regulars) for the search of information and its exploitation on the sector DBFM. Its official creation was the November 1956. It was administratevely named 80ème GMPR (mobile group of rural protection). It was placed under the command of captain Delayen, a «choc» marsouin (slang for marine infantry) who had already commanded localy recruted soldiers in Indochina.
This commando was under the order of the 2nd bureau of the DBFM, directed by LV bastard. The commando was deployed in the north of Beraoun (10Km of Nemours). He was near the 2/DBFM.
In January 1957, the captain Delayen had 51 volunteers supervised by 14 officers of the DBFM with captain Berthout of GMPR. Most of the officers were experienced fighters who had already fought in Indochina. The flag of the commando was made by Mrs Delayen. The commando was dissolved the 01/06/1959.

The other stuff is technical but I find this interesting.
Reasons for volunteers to join the commando:
60% vengeance against the fellaghas
20% loyalty to France
10% wanting to redeem themselves
10% because they were interested

It's not, besides the new multiscam black and some old "police"/night camo which all suck at concealment and generally look awful.
You could however buy something common or a reproduction of something less common and dye it black.

I'm new to /fa/ and should be lurking but I wanna put my two cents in.

I used to be a massive camo freak, especially when I was a kid. What worked best for me was actually to wear plain green or desert coured clothes.

That being said, camo looks GREAT as an accessory; hats, messenger bags, laces, belts and scarfs all look amazing in camo, especially when paired with the traditional army-ish colors.

If I were you I'd be working on accessories because camo accessories actually work great with a lot of stuff, and people will feel like idiots buying massive camo jackets.
