brooklyn has jumped the shark as well, there are few good neighborhoods left. Idk about Carrol Gardens but I went to Park Slope recently for dinner and a night out, it was a very cool area. I dont know how long itll stay that way though, given how close it is to the Barclays Monstrosity.

i had the same initial reaction when my cousin told me he was moving there, but trust me there are very cool neighborhoods. Hoboken in particular has a very youthful demographic, and the highest concentration of bars per square mile in the US (although i think it was recently overtaken by Nawlins)

Then look at the surroundings.

Minimalism isn't just about "keeping it simple", it's about a sort of thoughtful simplicity, that is harmonious and doesn't look out of place. It's also about proportions, and materials.

Look at something like the Seagram Building, not too far from there: the bronze toned I-beams on the facade, the barely functional blinds, the height relative to lot size. It's a building constructed with both exterior appearance and interior functionality in mind.

432 Park is just a building that was designed to be as roomy as possible inside, with as many units as possible, to generate the largest profit possible. It's lazy, it's greedy, it's soulless. It's a property developer's dream.
