Any helmet that's going to be more 'fashionable' probably isn't going to be as suitable for roadriding. (People usually like those 'skate/BMX' kinda helmets better, so do I, but they're for just that, not for normal riding.)

Would like something with a similar shape to 60s scooter helmets. Everything I find that I can get in the UK is for women.

Like these here. Obviously with a less in-your-face colour scheme

Nutcase makes a LOT of different colours/prints on helmets styled like bmx helmets - these are quite allright.
Ribcap makes a folding bicycle helmet hat which suposedly stiffens up when you fall down.
Of course an earo helmet like the lazer is the only brand if you want to look fast (pic related)
