so ive always considered myself to be pretty much fashionably illiterate. i buy maybe 5 or 6 articles of clothing a year and its usually just basics, straight leg jeans and a plain color t. i felt like it was time for a change and have been out shopping lately trying to get a half-respectable wardrobe. i want to look fashionable but not like, overly so. like i look good but im not trying too hard, you know?

anyway, id like to post some of the clothes ive bought recently and maybe you can tell me if i did a good job or not. most of it is from h&m and im 6'1 170 at around 10-12% bf for reference.

It's all fine basic boring stuff. Showing belt buckle is a bit of a douchey 2007 move. The fit on all the pants is pretty baggy below the knee. If you want to be on trend, get them tapered. Return the jeans and get some that aren't pre-distressed.

>> No.7608791

hmm add sum rick owens then ur good 2 go

>> No.7608804

>>7608790
yeah every pair of pants ive tried on labeled as 'slim fit' didnt even fit over my thighs unless the waist size was 4 sizes too big. i had to settle for these fits. and basic is sort of the look im going for. just hopefully not too basic.

>>7608791
are there any stores around boston that would sell that kind of stuff?

Shirt looks good; pants could use a taper.

>>7608771
Pants look bad.

>>7608779
Bad all around. Graphic tees are largely frowned upon. Jacket looks bland. Jeans are really bad.

>>7608785
Bad shirt, pants look acceptable in this pic.

>>7608788
Good.

You're on the right track. Stay basic and wear slimmer fitting pants. Don't wear jeans that have tacky distress lines all over them. The simpler the better.

>> No.7608831

Shirts are fine basics and look good because youre /fit/, all your pants are baggy af, return if you can, dont wear predistressed jeans like a kid outta hot topic. Get some clarks db as a starting shoe. That jacket and weird shit look awful. Your belt is shit btw.

Youre getting on the right track, you just dont know how your clothes should really fit yet

>Stay basic and wear slimmer fitting pants.
like i said earlier i found it impossible to get slimmer fitting jeans. im also in my late 20 so most people my age seem to be stuck in the past and dont really go for the overly slim fit jeans.

i also want to get some really deep vs but the only one ive been able to find was this one which doesnt really fit all that great around the waist. finding shirts that taper to fit my upper body is really difficult. i have a 44" chest with a 30" waist. the h&m stretch fits have been my best bet so far that ive found.

>>7608831
thats actually a hooded sweatshirt, not a jacket. i have two pairs of loafers that i usually wear, nubuck brown leather ones from rockport and satin black johnston and murphys.

would tailoring the pants be a viable option?

You arent ready for rick buddy

If you want slim pants that arent shaped retarded like you described you better be ready to spend at least $90. They have the hXc fake rips that you seem to love either. Burn that red vneck

>> No.7608856

>>7608836
If I were you I would just get new more expensive and higher quality pants. You can go the tailor route if you want but I wouldnt bruv

>> No.7608867

All you've really accomplished is buying fitted v necks and horrible baggy pants.

Try again.

you guys really think these pants are baggy? jeez these are the tightest pants ive ever owned. i cant even lift my legs in them. maybe im just not ready for the big time.

Do you even see where the problem is? Look at your flood hippy pant openings at the bottom.

i see what youre talking about, but it is difficult. all the pants that fit my calves didnt fit my thighs. and (apparently) vice versa.

levis 508 is a p.basic/plen-tier tapered or 'carrot-leg' fit that has a little more room in the thighs and like 7" or 7.5" opening. u can prolly cop them at jcp or some shit for like 40 idk. theyre allright, prolly better quality than hm maybe idunno maybe up ur alley tho

For real though, unless you're gay burn that red vneck.

Don't even give it to charity.

And if you are gay only keep it if you're looking for old gay men to pay you to suck them off.
