/fa/ opinion on second-hand clothing?

>live near an ultra-rich area
>went to the Goodwill there once just for fun
>mfw saw a ton of brand-name expensive clothes that look like they have never been worn, with some even having original price-tags
>price is on par with other Goodwill stuff, i.e., so cheap. it is almost free

Yay or nay? I am not thinking about getting important shit there (already got 2 new business suits $650 each), just misc good/expensive stuff for everyday wear. What to look out for when buying 2nd hand clothing?

True, will look out for. But, again, I know a guy who regularly shops there, and he was fine. Apparently, people there are so dirty reach, they are either too lazy to drive extra 10 min to return to an actual store or they think that returning something after wearing it just once is not a moral thing to do.

Thrifting clothes is a good way to build up your basics/find a unique piece. Just make sure to wash everything.

Buying clothes second hand is a great way to get stuff cheap. I went into a charity shop yesterday and they had two tuxedos with trousers for £10 each on the rack. Far too big for me and probably ex rentals but you can still get surprisingly expensive clothes for dirt cheap.

Just figure out when they put new stuff up at the store, or get deliveries, and schedule your visits after it. Thrifting is pretty much like looking for needles in a haystack, but you can definately cop some nice budget shit from there.

Pic related, 100% thrift.

100% implies underwear and socks too. You thrifted the pants and shoes too? Overall its pretty shitty though.

The only charity shops I've been to are tiny ones in my town. Do you get much bigger ones in cities or something? What should I look for?

I'm in the UK

OP is back, it varies. My hometown Goodwill is small as fuck and nothing of value can be found there. The one I mentioned in OP is damn huge, you can spend half a day there.

You understand that the area it gets donated doesn't always mean it will be sold in that area. Goodwill has weird distribution habits.
