This is a Miyota OS10 movement. It wholesales for about $7. You will find it in everything from a $60 Fossil to a $70 Calvin Klein to a $350 Citizen. Yet retards insist that the $350 Citizen is better because "it's not selling on superficial merits like the brand name"

Next time someone tells you that fashion brands use shit internals, you can remind them they are saying that Citizen makes shit watches.

>> No.7462801

A watch isn't JUST a movement. The case, crystal and band for fossils and all affiliated brands are absolute shit. The indicators fall off the face, and a lot of them arrive from the factory defective.

Citizens however, do not.

I agree with your overall sentiment though. What is worse is the faggots that claim that their shitty budget mechanicals are much better than some quartz watch purely because it is mechanical.

They don't get that one day they're gonna have to have their crappy collection serviced and for that price you might as well have bought a new shitty mechanical budget watch.

Calvin Kleins are made by Swatch you retard. You could have tried to pick a good examples.

Fossils on the other hand are built like shit. If you have ever held watches of different calibers you'd know the movement is only half the story. I have one have one watch that cost 600$ and has 10$ ISA quartz in the inside (despite of the price, the movement is accurate and incredibly reliable). there is nothing worse than watchfags. and i don't mean people on /fa/, i mean rich people who actually spend ludicrous amounts on watches. it just goes to show how shitty the human race is. they'll spend a million on a watch that does the same thing a $10 watch does. that does the same thing their cellphone does, and not even as efficiently. yet the world is in shambles, people are starving, government is corrupt, mother nature is hurting. but thank god the spent a million dollars on a watch with ZERO EXTRA FEATURES THAN WATCHES THAT ARE 1000 TIMES CHEAPER

>> No.7464943

First off, quartz movement watches are always more accurate than mechanical, always, no exceptions. When someone purchases a true luxury timepiece they are paying for luxury and craftsmanship. Citizen is garbage, along with most other “quasi-luxury” brands, including most fashion house watches. True luxury brands are a work of art and quickly become family heirlooms. That being said, a quality mechanical movement can still be found for a very reasonable price with brands such as Oris and Hamilton. If true luxury watches interest anyone here I recommend Vacheron Constantin, very high quality and arguably unique in heritage.
