Cheap acrylic. Take a small brush, glob it in paint and whip it on the shoe. I did it on my Vans, can be done on any sneaker (try and get some authentic GATs and no one will know the difference between them and your $500 MMM knockoff). Whatever color you want, primary colors look best. Drying time doesnt matter, but do one color at a time.

That's no problem for a cobbler. Those shoes have a Goodyear welt, which is that piece between the sole and the upper. A cobbler simply stitches on a new sole to the welt. Just make sure you don't let the welt wear through.

Though I've seen many crepe soled suede chukka types things around that are more attractive, I cannot remember them all. The more reputable (more than Clarks at any rate) English shoemakers all make a variation of the suede creped chukka.

I recall handling some Loake ones, and a pair from Sanders.

I know that Grenson and Barker have them too.
