Guys, I want a Pepsi bezel diver, but I find myself to be indecisive right now. Help me choose. I'll make up my mind after 10 votes.

You see the Seiko is a real ISO diver, but the Orient can do the very same. The Orient has a nicer dial, but the Seiko is considered "classic". At this price range, the bracelet isn't going to be that great, but the Orient's oyster bracelet is solidly built, whereas the Seiko's jubilee is flimsy. Both are solidly built watches, both are reliable, and both appeal to me at the same time.

I've got a blue Orient Mako, I think it's the better looking of the two. Seiko is just too cramped somehow [and also looks like a fake submariner (fuck the homagefags, you want a submariner, get a real fucking submariner)] The Orient has more "original" design.
I would like a jubilee or president style bracelet, though a good one would cost another $100. Bracelet on the Mako is of decent quality, easy to adjust yourself too, with a paperclip :) It scratches easily, but what doesn't.
Movement is accurate enough, I'd say a minute or two fast in a month, power reserve is about a day and a half in real world use.

If you want something that is unique, and isn't some "dressed by the internet" seiko 5 or something you'll see anyone on the street wearing, I'd recommend a Raketa Copernic, the USSR's Paratrooper issue watch. I don't have Seiko 5 but as a bit of a watch enthusiast I often pay attention to what people are wearing. Never seen Seiko 5 live yet on anyone.

Even if it feels that "everyone" has one in /fa/, /mfa or whatever, it doesn't mean anything in real world. We are way too niche for that.

I think they look alright even if they're shit, he isn't exactly a watch connoisseur so he wouldn't really be able to tell the difference between that Invicta and a higher end watch

This has been my dress watch of late, love the minimal design.

Interchangeable strap, diamond accent, found it on sale and had a coupon, cost me about 80 bucks. I get compliments.

Go for the Orient now and save the difference for a Vostok Amphibia

Thanks for the input, man. This is the deciding vote. I'm getting the Orient Mako.

Heck, with the money I'm saving, I can add another Vostok Amfibia to my collection.

The Seiko is ISO 6425 rated. Orient is not. If the watch will ever see water get the Seiko.

>> No.7458759

>>7458621
I've gone to watchuseek and various diving forums, and many people have recommended the Orient as an alternative to the Seiko SKX. While the Orient lacks the ISO rating, it is still a capable diving watch.

The thing is, most divers go 30 to 40 meters for recreation--and this piece can certainly handle the job.

is it possible to wear 30mm watch today without being laughed at? everyone is wearing those big chunky watches nowadays, even girls

>> No.7462566

>>7462561

Most people who actually know about watches laugh at those big chunky nigger watches.

Only blacks and guidos and other people with no taste wear those horrible tuna cans.

On the other hand, there is such a thing as too small. I wear a 34mm and it's about as small as I'd go.
