Well, it depends if you're the type that believes in regularly getting trims to 'remove split ends'. Also depends on how long you want your hair to be.

While it's initially growing out, don't cut it at least until it's down to your nipples, and even then, that's only if you want to keep it that way. Reach your desired length and then just give a trim every now and again (every several months or so).

The main thing is actually taking proper care of your hair to prevent the need for constant trips to a barber/salon, etc.

well in germany barbers call my natural hair color stray-dog-blonde. i have shitty brown eyes.
i actually dye mine since i was about 14, and it took me several years to find a color i like and nobody notices it's dyed..
but it's so rewarding everytime i get a cut and see my shitty natural haircolor in the mirror for half an hour.

the individual hair is thin but i have every fucking hairdresser comment on how dense it is, as if i have double the number of hairs than normal people.. My problem is the sides grow super fast so it always goes to shit within 1 week after the cut.
