lunarcore got shitty because a lot of people copied poets fits without the eye for detail and quality clothing that he had, not because of the name
lunarcore was also a very unusual style which was attempted by a larger amount of people than could pull it off
this style is different as it is basically streetwear with a heavy influence of traditionally "uncool"/chav youth culture, flipping it with varying degrees of irony. it's very easy to pull off.

why do you think that post-chav doesn't fit? almost all of the garments it seems to use have some link to early 2000s chav culture and clothing whilst moving away from the look through careful garment selection and self-awareness that the people originally wearing this stuff didn't have.

are you saying that all of the items being posted aren't linked to chav fashion?
that doesn't stop it from being ironic or having substance. i don't think it's fully ironic, as the fits do look genuinely good, but the irony is in using traditionally "chav" items (garish trainers, fake designer print hats, loudly branded sweatshirts, windbreakers) to create something genuinely good looking

it's what's been done by a lot of teenagers for the last few years with those really garish purple/green/pink nike windbreakers from the 80s and 90s mixed with reebok classics/air maxs and asos/topshop-core shit. but this is more subtle and the references are less obvious and lean more towards the early 00s instead of the 90s and 80s. either way it's ironic appropriation of sportswear trends that have become dated.

the difference with this is that 00s chav fashion itself attempted to appropriate high-fashion /w burberry/lv/gucci prints, but the manner in which it did it had unintended meanings due to the way it was styled and the fact that it was obviously fake.

this style flips it back around and takes these symbols of stylistic naivety (if i wear this fake LV bag/this fake gucci hat i will look fashionable and rich) and makes it something intentional, ironic, and most importantly something that looks good.

a style exists whether it has a name or not, and will always have good and bad examples.

There's already a few of us here who dress in style, and if they're anything like me they do it for a reason, because it means something to them.
I've always dressed with a sense of "irony" you could say, because the styles of 2000s hip hop were a big part of my childhood and I try to incorporate the brands (bape, lv, af1s etc.) into my style because they meant a lot to me when I was younger. I mix that stuff with things that are more used today like slim cut/skinny jeans, a slim profile and sillouhette. Basically what I'm saying is that it's a style that should have some sort of relationship to your personality and we don't need people just dressing up like this because they think it's a top lel

i think the fake bucket hats cross that line for me and i much prefer fits with plain or subtle buckets

i don't really see much direct influence from hip-hop culture in these; the british culture at the time was very different and the kind of youth culture this style references was never "cool" in the way hip-hop culture was. it was worn by people in poverty who were ignorant of fashion to the point where they thought they would look rich if they wore a fake gucci baseball cap with their (probably fake) adidas.

i also think the use of y-3/adiraf/more techy and complex nikes is a nod to over-designed and detailed chav trainers like nike shox. again, it's about using hindsight to take the elements of the style that were accidentally pretty cool, and making it something new style-conscious.
