Do places like uniqlo carry tux jackets? I'll need to keep it for the future so renting is out of the question.

Two quesitons:

1. Is there such a thing as a "timeless style" that isn't menswear (disregarding the small changes in the style)

2. Will fashion styles such as gothninja, Lunarcore, techwear, etc. all be out of style in 2-3 years time? Is the only way to stay /fa/ for a long period by jumping from "trend" to trend or being basicbitch4lyfe?

Where can I start finding out more brands?

-I like urban/streetwear or whatever it is called, but I love menswear too.

-I don't like to spend a lot of money on clothing, usually I don't go past 400 for any single item of clothes, no more than 200 for a pair of shoes, and no more than 30-50 for a t shirt.

-Some of my favorite brands so far are Ssur, 40ozny, 10deep, Jcrew, kithnyc (nice selection of brands) Obviously I am not happy with just these brands, and I am only really fond of the first two.

-Some brands I enjoy to shop at are Club Monaco, fuct, GPPR, Crooks and Castles, Supreme, random mall/fast fashion tier brands, Norse projects (although too pricey for me at times), Ripndip, vveryspecial.

They also have a "backpack strap" inside the jacket so you can sling it over your shoulder when you're not wearing it.

There's always plenty available used or new on eBay and sufu for $200-$300. Worth the investment, and could mesh with both a very basic wardrobe and a very avant-garde one.

Don't pay retail. Set a budget for yourself--"I'm not going to pay more than $100 for a tee, etc."--and just be patient. You'll find tees in that price range eventually (goes for everything: jackets, geobaskets, etc.)

Thing about rick's toned down pieces is that they look very similar to other shit sold at half the price point. i mean I have never personally tried his shit out, so you can yell "quality, muh quality!" all day and I can't really refute it. but really, if you aren't buying eccentric, unique designs from him, what then becomes the justification for the exorbitant price?

But they're not the same. If you put a blue denim DRKSHDW jacket next to, say, a Levi's denim jacket, there will be worlds of difference between them--in the material, in the cut, in how it makes your body look, etc. The DRKSHDW jacket, just for example, has higher cut shoulders, longer, slimmer sleeves, and a slimmer body. Those are just some of the differences, but if you try them on, you'll understand how important they are.

I didn't even mention quality.

>> No.6995615

>>6995579
I'm not talking complete shit-tier like levi's. Gstar has denim jackets with really slim cuts and short torso's. Not all are excessively branded either, and can be had for about 100 dollars. Brand really doesn't matter (don't really know why you brought it up), given enough time, I could find a suitable doppelganger for any of the traditional rick pieces for at most half the cost of the rick, if not more.

Seriously. His traditional pieces aren't really radical in any way, by their nature. They are traditional cuts and styles, with his name on them. Which means, although none of you will admit it, you are just in it for the name.

Basically all you said was that his shit is cut slim...that's not difficult to find in men's clothing, especially in 2013.

Look at women's fashion in various decades. It's all constantly changing bells and whistles. Menswear has moved much more slowly and mostly due to influence from military and sporting clothes, utilitarian stuff.
It depends on climate, but a fairly universal feature of high-status menswear is headwear, emphasised shoulders, and a long downward draping garment with a belted or otherwise narrowed waist. Basically, an outfit which exaggerates height and the male physique.

G-Star makes a lot of decent pieces that get slept on, for sure. They used to be a lot better a few years back, tho. They made that cost-cutter's march, you know? G-Star used to be made in Italy, good quality forward thinking stuff. Then they moved production to Portugal, Turkey, Morocco, China, etc.

It is not even in the same ballpark as Drkshdw/Rick. It never was, as far back as I can remember, with perhaps a few Italian made one-offs from fashion week being the only exceptions.

And even then, no way. RO is just so much more substantial when you've got it in your hands. If you want a design sensibility that's vaguely comparable to G-star but of a higher breed quality-wise, I suggest Julius. I think they've got denim jackets, too.

I personally like it. Can be worn comfortably in weather up to 70 imo. On its own it doesn't suit the cold well, but as soon as you throw another layer over it, the loose knit stops breathing so much and it becomes warm as fuck.

Check eBay first. There's a handful on there for like $30 or less.

Careful m8 I'll help you just for shits.
Depending on how warm you want it, I got a Spiewak Meade Field Jacket. Great little jacket. (bit loose on me but I'm lifting so it should fill out a bit more in a few more months) It isn't EXTREMELY expensive and is cozy for autumn and even bits of winter if you layer a sweater underneath it.
If you are a bit more of a bigger gentleman (not fat) the Alpha Industries field jacket is even better. A LOT warmer, but it isn't as fitting. (Probably could tailor it)
Other than that, just lurk in a parka thread and ask for a good duffle coat and look at what is cozy.
There is also peacoats. Look on Gilt and read up on some of them. usualyl they have good peacoat sales.

Just lurk. I know it is a frustrating thing, but just come up with a system for expanding yourself. I try to cop a piece a paycheck. I'm doing pretty good myself. If it doesn't fit, you can just send it back and try again.

I know it seems like a lot, and it is, an you might not be prepared to spend that much. But you are paying for boots that will last you for years and years.

They're USD$280 new and sorry but I don't really want to say where from because I don't want them to sell out before I get them. I'll decide today so if I don't cop I'll send you a link. Sorry for being so shifty haha

The last size left says EU44/US10 which is kind of strange because that's not how the conversion usually goes is it? I thought EU43=US10?

I'm a US10 so I guess I shouldn't cop then :(

Where can I find hoodieless sweatshirts similar to the girl in the red? Scoured the internet and local Footlockers, DTLRs, Hibbett Sports, black guy stores, etc. but they typically either have a hood or the print is entirely too small for the Nike and swoosh.

What's your budget? If you've got money to blow, it's easy to find something that isn't tough guy-ish. Even if you don't, you can still find it. It's all about the fit.
