484 is for fags and fuccbois suffering from polio

If you've ever done a calf raise in your life you're better off with the urban slims

urban slim

>> No.6988599

Here is my opinion. Urban slim = straight cut. They look bagy as hell on me, 484 =skinny. They look pretty ok on me. Go to a store and try on the 484 and see how the fit, if they are a bit snug, check out the new 770 cut. It is a mix of the slim straight and the 484. For a lot of guys the slim straight was good in the thigh, but huge in the opening, and the 484 was to tight in the thigh. This cuts the difference.

I always roll my pants once, it depends on what your personal style is/what kind of shoes you are wearing.

WARNING: J. Crew denim has about an inch of give in the waist, so when shopping go for snug in denim. The chino is pretty stable though, it gives but nothing crazy. I have heard though that after a year or so of washing sometimes the bowery can shrink up a bit.

I feel like if I wear the 484s they'd look too skinny

>> No.6988756

i got my urban slims tailored a bit to fix the huge opening. I'll check out the 770 next time i'm looking for a pair of chinos

it's possible. Everbodies body build/style is different. I prefer my pants being tighter, and I think I have body that it looks good on. Sometimes if someone is either to skinny, to short, or to stalky it looks weird on them. If you rally feel like 484 are to tight, I would recomend looking at the 770's and seeing how they are. There is nothing wrong with the Urban Slim, it is just a straight cut (not really slim).

>>6988756
yea the 770's are pretty boss. They have a similar feel up in the thighs, but then taper down nicely. I know that a lot of stores have just gotten them in the Denim and Cords right now, not to sure about the chinos. I am sure the New York stores if anywhere would have the chinos as well. Personally my favorite pants right now are the 484 garment died jeans in that utility green. They go with everything.

>> No.6988823

Buy the fit that fits your body the best. If you are skinny, neither will.

>> No.6988840

>>6988756
The Urban Slim and 770 fit essentially the same.

For reference, I lift and I wear urban slim chinos and just picked up a pair of their 770 jeans. They fit really well for non hungry skeleton mode guys

>>6988840
I found the slim straights and urban slim are closer in cut personally. The 770's are a bit more tapered.

1.) Does the Waist fit
2.) Are they long enough (do they break clean are they dragging on the floor, are they above you ankles)
3.) How do they feel, are they tight in rear, in the thigh, in the calf, etc.
4.) If they fit well, and are comfortable, are they in a style you like.
5.) If yes to all, they fit. If no, they don't fit. If in doubt ask a sales associate.

What city do you live in OP?

>> No.6988962

>>6988948
1) Yes
2) They break but do not drag on the floor
3) Not tight anywhere really
4) Comfortable

I live in New York

sounds good to me bro, if you are that worried about it any of the dudes at the LIquor Store would be more than happy to help you. Also keep in mind its a pair of pants, not marriage. If it doesn't work out perfectly just don't buy that fit again.

Too long. Size down one length.

Not really feeling it, mang.
It looks too messy for my taste.

pretty gay.

The fit looks fine (maybe an inch to long but as long as you cuff you should be fine), let me guess broken in Urban Slim Chino in the Melted Caramel? You could probably pull off the 484, but if you are worried they might be to tight stick with the urban slim. Like I said before I like the 484 more, if you wanted you could probably try on the 770 in the garment died jeans in the same color. Also don't forget J. Crew has a student discount.

>770
About time. I hate both the urban and the 484. The urban isn't even remotely slim. The 484 well it's okay except the rise is way too low. It ruins the entire fit. I feel like my pubes would be showing if i lifted my shirt.

>> No.6989134

>>6989110
I cant tell if he is rolling it once or twice. If once just get em hemmed (or roll em), if twice go down a size.

>>6989115
yea I think he could go to the 484, but if he likes the way these feel thats his bag.

Also OP upon lookng again, how does the waiste feel? It looks a bit snug, you might want to go up one inch size, but I am gonna guess the leg will get bigger if you do this. So try the 484 on in one inch size up in the waist, and the same length (the 484 tend to look shorter because they hug in different areas).

>> No.6989143

>>6989110
>>6989113
Instead of sizing down, can I get them tailored?

>> No.6989150

>>6989134
In the pic it was just flipping the cuff up. Does that count as one roll?

>> No.6989158

>>6989143
yea, but take another look at the waist, it looks a bit snug in your pic. I really recommend trying the 484 one size up.

>> No.6989160

>>6989134
The waist is actually comfortable or even a half inch loose

>> No.6989390

How should the chinos fit length wise? I get a 28x32 and when I wear shoes they bunch up a bit at the bottom, but when I cross my legs they do expose my socks a fair amount. Should I get them unhemmed next time and take them to a tailor for a 31 or is that just silly?
