It worked differently on the late 90's, I think. There was so much disdain coming from skiers on a lot of mountains, after a while we just played into it, dressed like monsters, smoked up on the lifts and snowed as many skiers as we could.

Slalom since I could walk, been getting into telemark skiing lately. being /fit/ certainly helps, but balance is an issue still.

I always found skiing was a lot easier than snowboarding, to be honest. I was a natural on skis but I found the stunt vocabulary on snowboards much more appealing. The wipeouts always hurt a lot more, tho - the board is pretty bolted to your feet, and I had to re-learn how to shift my weight in a fixed stance.

Probably the most /fa rider right now. Also, I'd personally recommend holden outerwear, most of their stuff can transition easily from the slopes to the streets, plus it's pretty good quality too.

put your body over the front of your boot
lean into the turn and shift your weight from outside edge to outside edge
turn wider than you think you should at first
until you know yourself and your abilities very well, focus on improving more than trying to do hard shit

the trick to being good is doing it a lot and not having shitty form

you WILL NOT have fun if you lean back while riding in normal snow, but you WILL NOT have fun if you lean forward in powder

do not go into pow deeper than a foot if you don't have the right skis / equipment / aren't prepared or good enough

If you keep pushing it (implying you actually do any of this shit lel) people might not call you out on it to your face, but they'll sure as hell be talking about it behind your back. This is important. For many people, even more important than understanding why you put up with bullshit you don't have to put up with is truly understanding that you don't have to put up with it in the first place. It really has to be experienced from the first person. The lesson is a feeling. It can't be learned by thinking about it. Brief abstinence from responsibility and courtesy really makes me appreciate myself when I do the civil thing, which is what I usually do because I understand its purpose. It no longer feels like the only option now though. It's empowering to experience both sides.
