As common as people say it is on the internet, and frag forums, I've never smelled it on anyone else in my life. and obviously if this girl hasn't heard of YSL, she probably hasn't either.

>> No.6899867

>>6899860
I just buy it from the mall. I don't spend hundreds of dollars on cologne when the "mall tier" frags work just fine for attracting ladies. not to mention I'm guessing most women also wouldn't know about any niche frags either so why spend the money on something like creed or tom ford.

When I wear any cologne I always do 1 spritz on each wrist, dab together, then dab on my neck. I never put any on my clothes. Is that why I feel like my cologne never really has an presence?

>> No.6900429

>>6900350
I usually do one on each wrist, one on neck and, if the weather is cold or the cologne is weak, one on the chest.

you feel like your cologne doesn't have any presence because you spray it on your wrists, which is really far away from your nose. And when you dab it, you "bruise" the cologne and make it last not quite as long. Also you're olfactory senses shift on and on when it is senses the same thing for an extended amount of time. think of when you get into a pool for a long time and the water starts to feel normal. same thing.

That's a matter of opinion. Some people say it works fine for everyday wear. I once heard a guy say it could be done but you might apepar to be trying a bit too hard. I personally like it but whenever I put it on I start feeling like a sleezy club rat.

here's my advice for you: If in doubt then don't. Best to err on te side of caution with stuff like this. While having a 10 meter radius of Aventus might get you a compliment from some bimbo who passes you by at that distance everyone else will be seriously hating you for reeking like that.

For your first cologne I think you should get something a bit on the lighter side, for versatility.
There's a couple of infigraphics with some ideas to get you started (I don't have any of them saved though), but the important thing is sampling and reading before you buy.

>> No.6905691

>>6905353

One or two sprays onto your wrist (maybe 3 if its a very light scent) and then tap your wrists together, then your wrists into the inside of your elbows, then your wrists to your jugular. You want the cologne to be at "hot spots" where a lot of blood passes subdermally, because that heat is what causes the cologne to "move" so to speak (I cant find another way to put it).

Every scent is different on how much you should put on. You should try everything.beacuse there is no general rule. Stuff like millisime imperial, or D&G the one.. Theres just no way you can get away with only wearing 2 sprays of those. There just way way to light. Wear as stronger stuff obviously like one million 2 sprays can be fine. It all just depends on what it is you are wearing.

And the problem with basenotes is they have a very sorta cliche rich snobby people attitude that you see in the movies. It can be very hard to have any kind of normal conversation there what so ever. Other wise if you do some digging you can find some good/intresting info there sometimes.
As for la nuit actaully I cant recall ever smelling it on someone before myself actually lol. I think in general where I live the most common things you smell are curve, cool water, aqua di gio, and le male. Other wise its very rare to smell anything else.

Anyone try these yet?

The Blue line contains three specific fragrances: Santal, the freshest of the trio; Cedrat, possibly the most classic and commercial; and Encens, my favourite. Encens, as the name might suggest, has the heavy churchy incense undertones that you get from other Comme perfumes such as Kyoto or Avignon, but in a lighter, cooler blend. I copped Blue Encens for the summer.

Its good, ive only worn it once, its incensey and woody mostly, switching between the two from time to time, but with a real fresh, cool kick behind it all the time.

Can't wait for hotter days, I think its really gonna shine in summer.

whats a scent that smells like cold mountains, but not in a 'le hipster lumberjack' kind of way?

like, the cologne equivalent of white mountaineering or norse projects

>versace dreamer
>expensive

Dreamer is actually extremely cheap (between 30-50 bucks). It smells really excellent, lasts about 8 hours, and has decent projection. Its opening is a bit too harsh at first, but after about 15 minutes it really comes into its own.

Must buy.

212 nyc men is the same as 212, but not the same as other flankers. its supposed to smell fresh like cut green grass with a metallic note in there.

basically i only have 212 and that is the only fucking cologne i used. At first it was a powerful fucking scent. Now i can barely smell it. Is it because I got used to it?

I don't want to soak myself and burn people's eyes and nose

I can tell Ur a fuccboi. it's not about what girls want. It's about appreciating the work someone's done, the scent, the notes and the feelings they giv and the memories they resurrect. I bet u shop at thrift stores and think Ur better for nt buyin designer cloths

U shuld leave fashion since u think it's just a tool to impress vaginas. Fukin pathetic.

Protip fuccboi. Girls can tell Ur tryin to impress them.

keep wearing it. your gf obviously heard that a lot of grills like your scent, and it makes her jealous that you probably smell better than her. she's trying to make you feel insecure. crush her by smelling, dressing, and acting better than her. she will come to love you, and hate herself for it.

Is it rare for a male to wear cologne in america ? It seems so from what i've read.

If this is the case then you're lucky because you stand out from the crowd. Everyone wears cologne here, thus girls dont give a shit.

Better ?

Currently using Ralph Lauren Polo Double Black for when I go out at night, and JPG Le Male occasionally during the day. I might not be using JPG correctly, as it is very light, but I often hear good things about the double black.

My Omani friend is picking out an oud oil for me. Not 100% sure how that'll turn out but I'm giving it a shot.

Anyone got experience with Ungaro Pour L'homme III?
I really, really like the rose note in my Van Cleef & Arpels Pour Homme and that mixed with the vodka and woods seems like a nice combination. Problem is; can't try it out in my country but I can get it for like €25,-.

I wear this almost every day in fall/winter. I highly suggest buying Tan Leather (TF private blend) and layering it with the Tobacco Vanilla.
