Nah I think the color's good. Going darker would kill the contrast and make him shapeless.
The one thing I don't like about the sweater is the cabling. Not the fact that it's there, but how narrow the cables are and how large the spaces between them are. I don't think the jacket's too big, but the arrangement of the cables makes it seem like there's more space between the dude's shoulders than there is.
