What does /fa/ think of painted Margiela GATs?
And Margiela GATs in general? How big do they run? Any inspo pics? Margiela is my fave designer and I've been thinking of copping them a lot, so what's /fa/s opinion on them?

You can probably make them look good, but the only person I've seen wear them irl is a 17 year old fat kid and they look like shit on him, so you should watch out.

i like gats, and i like margiela's take on gats, but i very much dislike the painted ones. this is because i like the simplicity of gats and the paint brings in too much visual chaos. the colors and splatter just attacks my eyes too hard.

generic gats are very cheap on ebay and other marketplaces. like $40-$80. definitely do it.

Margiela is one of my favorite designers, and I actually think the Maison is doing okay without him, but buying anything near stock GATs from MMM is a stupid fuccboi move.

Buy the authentic ones. If you want paint splatter ones, do it yourself. Put your own touch on them.

This doesn't apply to e.g. high tops, different colorways, etc. where the authentic one is the MMM.
