/fa/ culture changes by the minute, that is what people forget a lot. This place is hardly ever a constant for pretty much anything. It is so quick to change styles, change the interest level of threads, and even change the number of solid responses a question gets.

What has been happening lately, is those luls between informative times, and boring as fuck times has just increased like crazy. And this isn't because I am not some goffninja mother fucker, because I appreciate learning in anyway about fashion as I truly love the topic.

The issue is a simple one, and its people posting now for personal gain, accomplishment, or acclaim. No one is just posting to help a brother out, or to guide people through. There always seems to be some fucked up ulterior motive to everything here now.

Really, it just comes down to an issue /fa/ has always had: lack of moderation. We just need a mod to set their foot down and straighten shit out. Sure, some of /fa/ "culture" might get lost in the process, but give it a week or two and hopefully by the end of it most of the newtrips will have bounced and we can get on track with the betterment of the board.

The /fa/ wiki and the brainstorming threads were a good idea to help with the quality of the discussion, but we truly need an iron-fisted mod, if only for a little bit, to really curb the shitposting and stop anons from engaging and egging on the personalitytrips so much.

Feel threads are honestly more of a cancer, because they usually degenerate to/start as someone wallowing and dragging other people down with them. Maybe one in three doesn't wind up being an auto-pathetic clusterfuck I wind up hiding for my own peace of mind.

Lifestyle threads seem to me the lifeblood of the board. I like clothes, I'm interested in them, I'd venture to say I know more about them from a design and culture perspective (I know next to nothing about construction beyond stuff you'd see in an item description, "gussets," "split yoke," etc.) than most people on here, but I'd probably stop coming if there wasn't great discussion about other stuff. And the board would be much slower. How much traffic would a "How is Ivana Omazic doing at MMM?" or "Let's talk about Raf's use of color!" get?

Also, for the record, I spend *way* too much time on here, and I have no clue who Matt Helders actually is. Like I recognize his pic, sure, but I have no clue who he is, what he does, why people care, or anything about him, other than that he posts his pic on /fa/.
