I want this watch, but one of my best friends has the exact same one.
Can anyone help me find something that is an adequate alternative?
I find it to be the perfect combination of stylish and functional, without being too informal or crass.
Also, preferably around the same price.

bump
I'm struggling to find anything comparable that doesn't cost thousands

Go to creationwatches.com

Browse for Seiko and Citizen chronographs/pilots watches.

They will propably cost bit more than that but you might find a good deal.

Just browsed all the chronographs/pilot watches.
My problem is that almost all of them have that bloated "sports watch" look, and I'm looking for something that's sleeker and more elegant.
Maybe I should just buy this...

Good luck trying to find a nice swiss chrono from swatch, it seems they haven't made any good looking ones like the swatch chronos from 1994-1997 like in the pic.

This watch was what I had my eye on but I ordered the shitty GMT Jap Invicta instead cause I wanted a sports watch that I can wear as a beater. I wanted a swatch chrono without the bezel markers having paint but couldn't find any.

If you don't mind having the stigma of owning an Invicta you could get this one in the picture or the other Invicta Speedway Rolex homage, or for a bit more money any Tissot.

A PRC200 chrono or business casual like these Tissots.

not a very big fan of SS wristband watches.

don't really like too much

very nice, but not chronos
I found the Tissot Tradition Chrono which is the only Chrono of theirs I kinda liked.

That said, for some reason Tissot doesn't feel "cool" to me. Maybe it's because of their advertising. Am I wrong in that?

Don't like.
Looking for simple design.

>>6548526
Don't really like any of their Chronos particularly.

I reckon Tissot is an alright brand since they sell them in higher priced jewelry stores inside shopping malls. But since we're talking about watches priced under $500, well you are definitely not getting your money back when you decide to resell it to the used market (eBay or Pawn shops). And that's why pre-owned Omega Speed Pro's or Rolex Datejusts with in-house movements are much easier to buy and sell from around the $2500-3500 mark.

If you still seek an inexpensive funtional wristwatch you could still get any watches from Skagen, Swatch, Tag Heuer, Timex, Tissot or Japanese watches from Casio, Citizen, Orient, Seiko just go ahead and buy it. If you're into replicas well go ahead it's your money.

I think that Tissot brand is miles better than the Invicta's rolex explorer ii homage/copy watch that I'll get soon for the quality. But I still insist on getting a explorer style watch and that's what I'll get "a shitty japan movement wristwatch." If I was someone else I'd probably grab a better quality watch brand that's cheap like I said in my last sentence.
