I'm looking for a messenger bag, specifically one that is:

1) Preferably made of canvas, I just like the material
2) Large enough to accommodate a 17" laptop (43+ cm)

Any suggestions? I confess I don't know much about the aesthetics of messenger bags. If it was up to me, I'd get something like pic related (except that it isn't offered in anything larger than 15", that I can find).

Suggestions:

Don't carry a 17" laptop

Yeah, that seems to be the problem haha.
I got it to be supplemental to my desktop for gaming, watching tv and so on. I didn't really anticipate this, though I should have.

I did the same thing as a freshman in college. Bought a retarded 17" gayman laptop (which I now use as my desktop; it's actually served me well enough), then decided to carry it to campus when it weighs 15 lbs. Fucked up the right side of my body permanently from the weight imbalance. I've got horrible knots between my shoulder blade and spine that need to be crushed into submission every few days, or I can't sit still. I suggest a backpack or carrying only the absolute bare minimum in a shoulder bag.

I stopped carrying laptops at all for a few years after and only switched to an old Thinkpad recently. Shit's so much more sensible.

No, you don't want robbers to know you have a laptop and other expensive things. Just go with a backpack or buy a netbook.

Messenger bags are gay and bad for your back. Wear a backpack or carry it like a briefcase
