Fender Blues Jr. Tweed, with Jensen speaker

DOD FX90 analog delay

Leila PulseTrem (dual channel analog tremolo)

Dwarfcraft Total Spack Vibes (dual channel totally evil analog overdrive)

I like to think it's a fashionable setup

I guess scratching's a pretty discrete & superfluous thing until you get into it. It's a lot like being a percussionist. There are hundreds of techniques and patterns to learn, routines to build. It's really fun, but it's not easy - It took me at least a year to begin sounding passable.

I don't know anything about CD turntables, Traktor and the rest of it. Watching the art of beat-matching begin to go the way of the dodo has been disappointing, to say the least.

>> No.6240894

>>6240724
edit to add - they were probably trying to beat match the tempo by hand, thus getting a read on whatever the current track's tempo is, or matching the machine to it. This process is always a soundless one.
Many times, the only audible effect is the mix itself. Keeping a mix going can require constant fine tuning.

Can't agree with you more. The people who are part of the classical music scene are so fucking fa. They sometimes dress poorly but but have the most fa personalities. My symphony conductor for three years was such a bad ass.

He dropped out of high school in Argentina because he was smarter than the teachers, had to decide between violin and nuclear physics, went to the Moscow Conservatory of Music, and moved to the US to teach. He still teaches but plays around the world and invites his international friends to play in the US. He also knows Russian, English, Spanish, and Japanese which he taught to himself. He also has meets so many wealthy people that he goes out drinking with. These people also pay for his violin and some of his travel.

Any person and afford a "fancy" fender guitar. Not everyone can afford a multiple k cello.
All the wealthy and intelligent people play classical music. There is nothing more fa than hanging out on the weekends in a million dollar house with its own grand piano and stage, listening to a Argentinian violinist and Russian pianists who are playing a preview for there upcoming concert.

Y'all jealous or my classical music friends.

Saxophone.
Actual piano, not "my parents made me take lessons as a kid and I can still kinda play Fur Elise and Stairway."
Anything exotic or unusual (eg erhu, musical saw, theremin)
Macbook, wielded well (it's undeniable – electronic music is the thing right now, and I would be surprised if it doesn't supplant the traditional idiom with as much effect as the Baroque covered over everything before it. )

I find band members who sing without playing any instrument stupid. I don't know why that is, but I always imagine them to be that friend of the guitarist who really wanted to be part of the band but couldn't play anything well enough. So they just said "Well, can you sing?" and he's like "No, but I'll try". And then he's suddenly the front man and gets all the groupies although he's the least talented and all this.
