Yeah, I can see it. It's pretty funny how it works in France. there are two different kinds of Judges (simplified). The admnistrative one and the "normal" one. Both have different status, salaries etc. I'm not sure if there is such a discrepancy between "legal minds" choosing between lawyer and Judge. Afterall, it's pretty difficult to become one. And most judges, especially when outside Paris, make a lot more than if you are a puny lawyer. Big lawyers gets a lot though. Different culture, I guess.
