Hi effay. I don't often make threads here, but I would like a general opinion on this.

I'm going to be going to some interviews in NY (nothing incredibly upscale, maybe some office receptionist jobs and such) and I was wondering if you think these shoes would be appropriate? These shoes with some nice brown tweed trousers, a black blouse, and a tan blazer.

My boyfriend thinks they are not professional enough because they have laces. I like them, but I just moved here so I'm not sure on the level of appropriateness. I want to look well dressed, but I don't want to compromise my "style"; I want to wear something that I like of course, but I also want to feel like I could wear them outside of an office setting as well.

Any opinions/thoughts? Thank you!

pencil skirt (grey)
heels (black [kitten heel or stiletto])
add whatever accessories you want in any color
make sure u hike up that skirt a little bit if the interviewer is a dude ;)
