Used a cranberry/chocolate candle at one place I used to live at, though it depends on the place really.

Gotta pick the scent that fits the place and it's/your personality. A more normal place I lived in was orange and citrus flavors; while another had a blueberry.

I would probably choose a wood-potpourri type in my current apartment.

another good tip i learned from my parents who flip houses is like put a lil bit of liquid vanilla in a coffee mug and put that in the oven and itll heat up and ur hole house wil reek of vanilla for a long ass time its good if your house smells funny or like u forgot to air it out b4 u tried to sell it etc

I can tell you stories about the myriad scents I share my home with. I've smelled things you people wouldn't believe.

Well, mostly it's feces and urea with some earthy tones. Cat feces and piss smells the worst when combined with cheap litter. Unbreathable if I'm too close to it. Snake feces is more musty fertilizer with a tinge of aseptic cleaner from the solid uric acid. Occasionally, someone won't eat a rat and when I wake up, it smells like death from the bloated corpse that's rotting from the inside out. A large lizard that roams around the house will sometimes drop a warm, smelly load after gorging himself on cockroaches that smells exactly like what you'd imagine digested cockroaches (plus dat uric acid) smell like. The cleanest odor is emitted from the rabbit whose hutch is like a tiny barnyard, but if he eats too much protein from alfalfa, he'll go into alpha mode and start spraying everything with a deep orange, pungent piss.

Actually, the best smelling thing in the house are the roach bins. They eat a lot of citrus fruit, so they smell great. Sort of like aged moss and wood shavings with a punch of citrus.

Combine all of the above with a constant scent of coffee too. Right now it smells like distant creosote bushes recently drenched by rain, ozone and coffee. No poop tonight.

Another great smell I remember from childhood was freshly watered peat moss and sphagnum moss. My god, it was the best, most comforting smell that exists.

Repti-fag here, lizard shit is fucking foul. My tegu ocassionally throws up and it is so fucking strong and just terrible. I also had two turtles that I sold and whose tank I forgot about, so when I dumped out all the water it smellt like rotten musky reptile piss.

Also, the rabbit made me lol hard. When I was a kid, our rabbit would run up to strangers and piss on them.

It smells like cannabis (not smoke, because I do that with a vape), predominantly. If it is after about 3pm, it smells like food because I'm making dinner. At night it smells like wine and clove cigarettes, because I like to drink and smoke those in my recliner before bed.
