I'm 26 and I have no 'adult' clothes and no idea how to dress.

My wardrobe is full of hoodies, jeans, t-shirts and the only shoes I own are a pair of white AF1s

What clothes should I consider buying in order to dress my age?

Sweater, Button up shirts, Polos, Metal spike boots, and try some business casual sneakers or somn.

Boots
Loafers
Oxfords
Sandals
Go to literally any store or website that sells shoes and look at your options. I personally prefer wide toebox/"barefoot" shoes but that's more of an question of comfort than aesthetics/fashion.

I'm shocked, your pants are supposed to fit without a belt? I don't think that would work on me. I have wide shoulders and equally wide hips, I need a belt for anything going above the hips.

>I'm 26 and I have no 'adult' clothes and no idea how to dress.

Thrift for two years or you will make a fool of yourself. I know that sounds discouraging so let me explain.
You are probably [rightfully] worried about looking like a manchild hypebeast when you hit your 30s, I understand that. But without first developing style you will end up looking like an NPC and never understand that fashion should feel good. So make some mistakes now and before you know it you will be answering your own questions.

Like a lot of people are suggesting a sportscoat or blazer, which is fine except:
>What cut?
>What kind of pockets?
>Structured or unstructured?
>What material?

Go thrift and then come back when you have cultivated these preferences. WAGMI bro. No shortcuts!

You can still get away with some deliberately fashionable clothing choices in the second half of your 20s, you just can't overdo it. Nothing 'experimental' or 'high fashion' unless you're already exist on those circles which obviously you don't since you're asking this question. The real tip is to stay in good shape. A big reason why 25+ people start to look unfashionable is because their bodies start giving up on them. They get tubby from the 9-5 and the trendy stuff looks like shit on them. But an in-shape 30 year old isn't going to look tryhard in a fit like JAW's here.

You'll notice none of these fits I'm posting are very elaborate / contain statement pieces. Unfortunately yes, those days are behind you (if those even ever were your days). Yet they still suggest some thought has gone into the outfit and I would say still read 'fashionable' to the average person.

And sure, all these guys are attractive (and Jeremy Allen White and Paul Mescal are not even extraordinary looking) - but in any case nothing they are wearing would look out of place on an average looking 25-35 year old in decent shape.

Gonna choose to not be a cunt about this but I don't think actors in their 30s-40s are a good reference point since their entire job revolves around appearing at least a decade more youthful than they actually are. Same goes for models.

>> No.17997750

>>17997739
What does that really have to do with the fits in the question though? I see guys 25+ year olds dressed like this all the time.

Also at 25-35 you still look young unless you've treated your body like shit. The question is more about 'dressing to your age' which I would say all those fits are good examples of.

If you can’t pull off edgy looks, it’s better to go for trad/classic and/or minimalist. You basically want to look like you’re a web model for J. Crew or Everlane.

Nobody expects a 26 year old to dress a certain way. So you already achieved your goal. Congratulations.
Now if you WANT to dress a certain way that's a different topic but you kind of have to figure out what you want to look like.

No, it sucks. You get stalkers and then you have to file a police report. Like I said that idiom is not universally applicable, some people wat to be popular and well-liked and get dow on themselves when it doesn't work, others are well-liked for absolutely no reason and all they want to do is spend more time alone

Lose the hoodies, distressed jeans, graphic tees, flashy sneakers and all the other zoomie shit. You can wear simple sneakers or plain t-shirts with no logos that fits you but rest of that shit gotta go. It looks stupid, any adult male or let's say any adult-sized male shouldn't wear those stuff. You mentioned that you're going to the gym, I'm guessing you're in shape so don't hesisate to wear adult clothes because they will fit you nicely.

>>18000693
BULLSHIT! This is manchild gibberish. Go on and get a nice fitting suit and you instantly will notice how people start to treat you differently. You walk around with a fucking graphic tee, jeans and running shoes and people don't respect you. People will judge you based on how you look, how you dress and how you behave. Because they are not fucking mind readers, they can't read your ''nice personality'' inside your brain. You should dress respectable if you want to be respected.
