Posted this in last thread but I'll post it again.

Does anyone own or know about this watch? heard good things about it, trying to decide between a Sieko 5, Hamilton Khaki auto and this Boldr. I want a nice watch for preferably as cheap as possible, most I'm willing to spend is 300-500 right now while I'm still in uni.

Sapphire glass, automatic movement, and good looking. I have a 7.5 inch wrist, 38-40mm nothing smaller than that. I'll also do a crystal swap if there's a popular mod for a Sieko or for any other watch in this price range.

A family member gave me this old Longine but I have no idea how waterproof it is. I can't find much from the serial numbers on the back. Is there a way I can identify it?

I also got about 10k from the same relative and think I could also buy something dressier than my usual Victorinox with a date, luminous hands and my first automatic. Maybe the Tudor 1926 in 36mm? I like the look of that. The Rolex Explorer also looks nice.

The only watch I ever bought was a f91w, so I'm a bit lost.

My vintage GQ / Credor collection, a 6020, 5930 (gold), 9943 and 9940. I am on the hunt for a Seiko Superior 9983-7000 but they are very very rare or cost a lot. Last time one showed up on Yahoo Auctions Japan was like five months ago. A 9256-5000 would also be sweet but they are rarer than the 9943 variants.

Despite several drams of whisky and staying out till the early hours of the morning, I miraculously woke up without a hint of a hangover. I quickly deduced that it must have been my superior drinking skills, evolved over years of "research," that allowed me to conquer the dreaded morning-after headache. Or maybe, just maybe, it was the universe rewarding my responsible choices that night, choosing water intermittently and devouring a greasy pizza before bed. Either way, I felt like a victorious champion, proudly boasting about my hangover-free existence to my less fortunate comrades.

Despite my lack of enthusiasm in meeting with a client on a Sunday, I have planned to meet at a local cafe. Although not the most ideal setting, I hope the casual atmosphere will help ease any tension and create a more relaxed environment for our discussion. I'll approach the meeting with an open mind and strive to find common ground, hoping to establish a better working relationship moving forward.

What are your plans, frens?

Quartz, first it's in line with the vintage PRX, the dials are better imo and value for money is also there. You get a fantastic watch, with great size and dial choice for an affordable price.

Automatic gets the Powermatic 80 that is an off the shelf movement with plastic parts, once it breaks you throw the whole movement into the fuck it bucket and put a new one in. You overpay for a basic bitch auto movement.
I don't like the cheap waffle dial on the automatic version as well.

If you have a Tissot shop anywhere, go in and try both, buy the one you think is best for you.

Dog shit strap but can be fixed by after market straps/bracelets, besides the black dial/silver indexes, while luminova rest look shit especially with the beige luminova for muh vintage look.
The size is way too small even for a dress watch, the least I'd wear myself is 38mm, but only if it looked right.

If I really were to spend upwards of €850 for a Nivada watch I'd at least consider the Arctic Spider (pic rel) because it actually looks interesting. Even then would I really spend $850 on a brand new one? Fuck no I'd get one for like €200 used from some poor faggot who actually got one for retail.

I mean, it means it's a cheapo ETA based movement, made by the Swiss. It's as cookie cutter as it can be. It's nowhere close to being worth €850 Nivada ask for, but some retards will but it. The only interesting watch from them, I have seen is the Arctic Spider, but then again I wouldn't pay anywhere close to retail.

I can easily buy a Single or Double Penis Quartz Vintage Seiko that mogs the shit out of those Nivada shitters.

These guys are just coping poorfags. Sad reality is the quartz version is just as much overpriced trash as the automatic one. The movement is even worse and the seconds hand doesn't even hit the markers on most stock photos.
The bracelet is the same scratch magnet. How anyone can prefer the shitty print on a basic-bitch sunburst dial is beyond me but I guess that's a matter of taste.
If you're buying the 40mm quartz 90% of the insides of your watch are going to be plastic just to keep the movement in place.

The only thing the PRX is good for is as Royal Oak cope and you need the waffle dial and automatic movement for that.

>Does resin cause heat rashes?
No, but some people might be allergic to it and some people don't clean their watches and get gross rashes.
>Is a face button light superior (5 button) superior to non front having light button goyshocks?
Functionally, yes. Aesthetically, no.
>Why isn't the GW6900 available in my region usually?
Because it's an old model with a high MSRP that only makes sense when you sell a lot of them at a discount. It's also possible that the people in your village know it doesn't display current time in all modes so they don't buy it.
>Does a round gshock mog the square for the 5 button reason?
Functionally, yes. Aesthetically, no.
>What is infact the best goyshock module currently in production?
For squares:
basic LED: 3525

+STN: 3543, 3459
Most advanced:
depth meter: 3445
>Is CR2032 based goyshocks based considering they are the largest used battery in non solar models available?
It's a big battery but some models that use it are very power hungry so it only lasts as long as a normal battery. If longevity is your aim and you're allergic to the sun any basic G-Shock with an LED will be good.
>Is the GD350 based for above reason stated? it's also been in production quite long now and still is
The GD350 is the king of cheap G-Shocks, it's big, it has great functions, and a great display.

Is it true that Timex watches are annoyingly loud ticking? I read this multiple times as a complaint compared to a Casio which is silent. Yeah, basically. I'm not opposed to watches displaying similar information through different means, it's good for getting different aesthetics and options for keeping track of the time. If you can make a GMT watch more visually appealing and maybe even smaller profile by making the GMT hand a subdial I don't see the issue. It would at very least be more useful than when you can't set it independently and your watch doesn't tell you anything you couldn't intuit by literally just looking outside and seeing if the sun is up or not. It would be like buying a GMT and never ever setting the hand to any other time zone. What would be the point in having a GMT?

If you expect someone to pay $10k for a watch you better goddamn well make it the most perfect watch it can be. There's no excuse for such loose fitting on a watch at this price point. You could actually save money buying a datejust or OP, have a really nice fit and finish watch and possibly even gain some value in its secondary market price rather than immediately losing half the value on a Seiko. You practically have to have hookers and blow delivered to your house by the dealer to make that proposition worth it. You almost need additional compensation to make it make sense. The awful finish is just spitting on the whole horseshit cake.

Springdrive Snowflake GMT MSRP is only $6500. In the used market you can even get this watch for $2k in Chrono24. So its no where near as overpriced as a Rolex, since the minimum you'd pay for a Rolex is $10k.

Funfact a brand new Rolex will actually squeak, until you wear it enough. There's actually a broken in period with Rolexes, a few months if you wear it daily but on average it takes 1-2 years to break in since people only wear it on occasion.

nature doesn't require or notice man's regard for its beauty, whereas all we do is subservient to nature's law.

all of our study is. devoted to simply catologing all that exists outside of us, and all of our control amounts to reduction, nothing is added at all.

we are at best gremlins mucking up the works.

Oh, that's actually a tell vs fakes.

Fakes = band movement is tight and not free/smooth until broken in. No squeak.

Real = band squeaks but can move freely and smooth.

It's close enough. Even if it's $8k it just doesn't make any sense. Grand Seiko's pricing in general is completely fucking delusional and out of whack. Look at this thing - yeah, it looks decent and has a really high beat rate for an automatic watch, but FORTY THREE THOUSAND FUCKING DOLLARS? And you don't even get a fucking bracelet. You could save $10k or more just buying a Rolex Daydate, you get a super recognizable watch with one of the best bracelets in the game, and if for some reason you decided to sell it in 5 or 10 or maybe 20 years you can realistically get almost exactly what you paid for it back. What on earth do you have to be smoking to buy a Seiko instead?

This is not the place to discuss such matters. You believe what you want to believe.
Since the dawn of mankind all we do is try to transcend nature's law. Not in the least by trying to lessen the suffering caused by nature in many cases. The Universe in this form has existed for 13 billion years yet civilization has existed for less than 10 thousand years. And yet man already looks into the fabric of reality and controls forces that can warp spacetime itself. Your self deprecation is indicative of a theistic worldview. My view is that man is the measure of all things. I appreciate nature's beauty as a template for man's improvement of it. A sunset is made infinitely more beautiful by reflecting in a skyscraper if you wish. Farewell

I’ve read about bears being known to just sit on a hill and chill and enjoy the view. Im certain many animals are capable of appreciating beauty
