Hair should be your #1 priority. Dunno why dudes with long hair let it get so shitty, girls love long hair and self care. Leave coconut oil in for about 25 to 30 minutes before showering, then rinse it out with shampoo. Stay the fuck away from "daily moisturizing" shampoo.

Your hair needs texture pretty bad. The coconut oil will help, but you'll need a proper leave-in conditioner. Mielle or Camille Rose work great, though a little pricy. A cheaper but still effective option would be Shea moisture, just don't use too much. A pea sized amount, spread it across your hands and massage it into your hair while its damp (t. wet but not dripping). Try to avoid touching your scalp if you can, but it's fine if you do.

Your build isn't even that bad, from what I can tell you literally just need to work out and eat clean. Whole other can of worms, not for this board. Start with calisthenics, even if its just doing crunches every day.

As for outfit help, look for stuff that makes your torso seem smaller than your legs in what should appear to be a 1:3 ratio. You don't look the type to spend thousands on designer, so don't do it. It won't make you any less lame than you make yourself. It just looks like you need to learn how to layer your clothing and accessorize. You can make a massive difference with relatively few changes, just by elevating the basics of your wardrobe.

Other important things to mention: The most crucial things you can take care of are how your shirt interacts with your pants and how your pants interact with your shoe. Can elongate/shrink your torso, make you look homeless

Zoomers in particular love cropped clothing, I believe tis the season of cropped flannel. Honestly thrift whatever might fit nice/a little baggy and crop it yourself, just takes scissors and elementary sewing skills.

The pants-to-shoes blend is a little more difficult to nail. Too baggy and you look homeless, too cropped and you look like a white woman in the default photo that photo frames in walmart come with. This is more or less trial and error, trying things on and seeing how they fit. But your pants will ABSOLUTELY make or break your outfit.

When it comes to shoes:
>Black, Real Leather Loafers (Anything nice desu, look for ones with a taller sole. Doc Martens, Actual Designer Brands)
>Triple White Sneakers (i.e. Air Force 1s, Jordan 1/4, Stan Smiths)
>Skater Shoe (Converse, Vans, Rick Owens)
>Comfort Shoe (Asics, New Balance, Yeezys)

Honestly, literally look for what you like and don't like. Get real. Look at other peoples clothes and find what you enjoy and could use yourself or avoid. You can worry about fitting in when you have a reservation at a fancy restaurant.

Life has no dress code.

There's been a dramatic drop in clothing quality and just general style in the past couple of years. Far more clothes are made from plastic. All clothes websites have adopted the chinese flea market model and feel cheap, even for higher end brands. This is probably because they ARE pursuing the chinese new money market.

Now all shops sell the same clothes, unless you go for more expensive brands. I think this is because they're all run by the same company. Look at Abercrombie and Fitch, they're still around but it no longer sells preppy clothing for white in-shape teens, but generic and safe 'urban' clothing with loose silhouettes

>> No.17827221

>>17827209
They still sell cotton and wool clothes, most clothes marked as heavyweight have high gsm cotton and no plastic. You just have to read the fine print

Don’t get the rant about Abercrombie either, I recently bought linen and 100% cotton buttonups and polos from them and even some knitwear, they still sell mostly those with the occasional hoodie

>> No.17827257

>>17827221
It's not a rant. It's about the homogenisation of clothing brands. What A&F does now is really good for the price, it just definitely doesn't have the same feel or aesthetic that it used to have. Just look at how diverse the models are now. It was a brand that had a very specific look (white, rich, athletic and young) and would actively discriminate against anyone who didn't fit into this category, e.g. by making non-white/disabled employees work in the back of the shop only, giving them fewer shifts etc.

I can go on the website now and buy cargo pants, an open stitch shirt, and some oversized t-shirts, like I can go and buy similar clothes from high street shops like Uniqlo, River Island etc right now.

>> No.17827260

>>17827257
A better example would be Jack Wills. It's very similar to A&F because young people wore it because it allowed them to be in an in-group and sold some decent stuff. Now you can buy it at Sports Direct which is literally a shop that sells cheap sportswear for people to wear when not actually playing sport

normie mall/box store clothes have been being made of plastic, they were always garbage, and there was never anything unique about them.

For lots of young people the clothes you wore defined your subculture. Clothes aren't everything, but they were a large part of the subculture, no matter how consoomerish that sounds.

We still have the idea of what you own defining you (thank you Edward Bernays) but what you can own by buying stuff with your money is just the same as everyone else nowadays. The only difference in what you can buy is how much you spent on it/what logo is on it. After a certain price point, the materials will always be natural fibres so it doesn't make too much of a difference in terms of their composition.

Even high-end brands like Celine etc just sell tacky shit plastered in logos rather than the unique and classic designs they used to make.

Thats every brand. Most people dont wanna spend a ton of money unless they can show off the logo
I saw some interview posted on /fa/ where gucci says they lose money on their high end fashion pieces and 90% of the revenues comes from shit like dumb women buying bags

It's crazy that you have to spend 200-400 bucks for a decent piece of clothing, 700 for a coat, 100 for one shirt, at minimum! if you don't want to buy trash. And even then there's plenty of trash to be bought for that kind of money.
I'm probably just poor, but even resale is super expensive and feels not worth it. I buy something expensive because I want it, but you can hardly develop multiple styles or fill a proper closet with current day clothing prices. Yes, I do wear the stuff I bought four years ago. Yes, I do buy clothes from 3-5 years ago on ebay. But I'm still spending almost all my recreational money on fashion.
I have essentially two hobbies at the moment: fashion and food. And I just go to decent places with decent food and wear decent clothes made in Europe. I'm not talking about splurging.

I used to sew, pot and woodwork my own furniture, but it's just not worth it with the material costs these days. I don't have a place large enough to explore these hobbies further, I feel as though the only things I can spend money on are external, have nothing to do with my home.
I don't even read at home anymore (reading is so cheap I don't even count it as an expenditure anymore, except for buying a Leatherbound tome for which I don't have the library to store it in anyways), and most of my time is spent reading. If I'm outside and around strangers all the time, I might as well look good.

I own these two pants. They're the same model, just different colors obviously.
Only problem is, the grey ones are 1 size bigger
If I took it to a tailor, could you make the grey pants match the black pants exactly in: waist width, leg width+hem width?
For reference the black ones have measurements of:
Waist: 46 cm
Watari width: 35 cm
Hem width: 19 cm
Grey ones have
Waist: 47.5 cm
Watari width: 36 cm
Hem Width: 20 cm
My biggest concern is would there be a fuck ton of obvious lines/areas where you can obviously notice that the pants have been tailored?

How do I get good at purging my wardrobe?? I know this seems like a stupid question but I get so attached to clothes and especially because I have such an interest in fashion it's impossible for me to really be consistent with my taste. My wardrobe is overflowing and I currently have 3 of those crazy huge shopping bags filled with clothes I didn't really know what to do with. But I can't get myself to get rid of them...
I hate depop/grailed btw so I won't consider selling them through there, but I'd like to make some money off of it, I've done some markets in the past and done pretty well off it but it's a lot of effort.

Why do I consoom so much but struggle to purge...!!

Depop gentrification makes me cringe and I can't stand the oversaturation on there of trash. Also the mailing bullshit is a pain to deal with and the 10 percent cut makes it so difficult to sell at a reasonable price. I just hate the online marketplace a lot and I prefer to stock in brick and mortar consignment stores or second hand boutiques where people are paid to deal with customers. Markets are fun cause you get to watch people pick through your curated pieces, I made 1.5k at a market in about 4 hours selling stuff for a pittance cause there was no commission or stallholder fee. If I could I'd do those more often.

>>17843104
>get rid of anything with low quality fabrics right off the bat first, then get rid of things that don’t fit you well
Really good advice, I will do this. I might have to make some small exceptions in the first case because there are some pieces I love that are polyester, particularly pieces from the 80s... But the ill fitting clothes I really should just ditch. I also am thinking of getting rid of a bunch of my graphic tees, I'm starting to realise I'm too old to wear them.

in what, 1989? Stussy have always been a dogshit sellout brand. Cheap merch for a surf company and eventually sold in a bunch of skate shops, and when the founder seethed that his clothing was worn by BMX riders and skaters, sold it out to all the big streetwear shops of the early 90s.
their vintage stuff was worth fuck all until it was bought en-masse by instagram fags now that modern fashion is letting something become hyped, then overly expensive and then everyone moves on to 'the next best thing' to repeat the process. Stussy just decided to cash in on the vintage thing and try to shed their Diamond Supply tier rep by minimising their releases
fuck them, by far the lamest streetwear brand and it's amazing that a bunch of Massive Attack loving boomers and Filipinos who wish they were Japanese have been psyoped into believing they're somehow 'in the know' for pissing away $80 on a shitty t shirt or $150 on some holey cumrag from 1993

At the same time, I haven't found a jacket that's cropped like the original detroit that won't just cover my tool belt or drape weirdly

I just realized I'm 27 and don't own a suit. What do I buy given a very twinkish frame? I'm not on a super tight budget but at the same time just need a basic, functional suit for interviews, weddings, etc.

Honestly if you are rarely gonna wear it, just go to a suit outlet, they will usually tailor it to you as well

The only local men's suit outlets I can find are bespoke $2000+ places and men's wearhouse type garbage. There are several tailors though, so I was thinking of taking the >reddit advice of basic bitch suitsupply + tailoring. Any objections?

whats a "classy" way of holding my hair back? ive got super shaggy curly nafri hair, and since ive been growing it out from a buzz its reached the point where the sides stick up, but headbands dont really match the tweed pants and dress shirts, so is there something else i can wear to keep it flowing towards the back of my head?

Maybe a metal hair band? That being said, if your hairs as shaggy as you say then you might be better off just keeping it short like the guy in the middle
