What does/will the 2020s suit look like? What is the successor to the 2010s slim fit?

I don't stare at men ankles and I don't think most people do. It's something so utterly weird to nitpick about.

Must be due to me living in a warm weathered place so people end up using clothing that is breathable.

I live somewhere with hot summers and it doesn’t affect my opinion on this. Think of it somewhat similar to neckties in that it might seem minor, but it can still make a difference as to how you come across.

>> No.17683905

Yeah, anyone with common sense can agree suits without socks is a faux pas and a modern trend. I have a friend that thinks it looks good and he wore no socks and very high break on his suit and I called him retarded, he said it looks good and can't be bad because everyone else does it.

wearing a suit is "dressing up" to zoomies so they will be overcompensating. their tendency to wear baggy shit is an unconscious nigger larp, so wearing a suit means larping as a sleek metrosexual white man which requires the slimmest suit money can buy
oh and they will wear chain necklaces with the suit

The ideal mid-to-late 2020s suit will probably be very similar to most of the better fitting examples of 2010s suits, just with less very narrow ties and lapels, with more moderate proportions. Sometimes, even wide lapels are seen in these last few years. That was something mainly older and middle-aged men wore around 2012-2017.

Considering how KIDS THESE DAYS love muh comfortable athleisure clothing and gimmicky 90s fashion, I imagine that the 2020s suit is going to be soft and flexible with a loose fit and very little structure (half-lining at best and minimal padding in the shoulders). Expect to see basic notch lapels and two-button fronts, most manufacturers are so used to that formula that they're unlikely to stray away from it. Oh, and patch pockets because that shit looks more casual takes far less time/effort to make compared to internal pockets.
Trousers will get wider and shorter (them young'uns sure do love super short inseams that draw attention to their shoes/socks), possibly to the point of plus fours making a comeback.
Ties are as dead as a doornail as they've been deemed uncomfortable (plus barely anyone makes shirts based on individual collar sizes anymore) so expect to see a ton of open collars even in the most formal of settings. In more relaxed milieus, is all you need.
Shoes? White dress sneakers, the modern man's go-to footwear. Or maybe chunky-soled boots to match the outfit's overall silhouette.

my idea is that since most zoomers see suits through the lens of tumblr sexymen (most of which have styles rooted in 60s mod/peacock revolution styles), it should adapt to how those are typically drawn, so

>squareish quarters with a small amount of openness
>jacket a more traditional length, extending slightly past the crotch
>3 or 4 buttons
>slim trousers with a small flare, with a half-break
>lower gorge
>pagoda shoulders for a sharper silhouette
>flat front trousers, low rise or high rise
>sharper toeboxes and higher heels in shoes, cuban heels very popular
>center vent that splits the jacket into a triangle instead of having two halves overlap

basically a cartoonified hyperreal take on suits, where suits look more like suits than any other kind of garment, even suits
I feel this is the most obvious direction, since hyperreality and cartoonification ARE the zoomer zeitgeist, the giant red astro boy boots prove it
