>There's another girl in social circle that brings up and talks about said girl occasionally
>I know they gossip to each other (probably about me)

>who's this girl I it a girlfriend she asks
>"no, not at the moment, my cousin introduced me to her friend from college about two weeks ago and we've been taking things slow"
>"wooooow nice, what's she studying?"
>tell her she's studying to be a veterinarian
>"nice! How old is she?" Tell her she's 23, I'm 29 and girl that friendzoned me is 25
>mention she has a great head on her shoulders and picked a humble thing to study
I figure she's going to run and tell this other girl about it, I have also been having a great attitude and have dressed nicer which makes it believable. How pathetic is this thinking I'll end up hooking up with the girl that friendzoned me. FYI these two girls aren't in social circle with my good friends so I can easily lie about it

Im with you on the bad design of GS. But if you drop five figures on a luxury product you‘d hope that it is as close to perfect as possible.
Especially PP & JLC are guilty of going out of their way to make their new releases worse to save a few bucks. It definitely doesn’t hurt to have some asians deliver better finishing for a few thousands than the swiss old guard which seems to have grown a bit lazy.

For stage two I had them meet my gf. Strangely they asked for her to only come wearing a towel, but I did what I was asked and they brought her to the storage room for about 30 minutes. I really had hoped she got to see the list but she didn’t unfortunately. But the AD manager said my foot was almost in the door!! That led me to today, where I wanted to enhance my chances at a slot by purchasing a black bay. Why is the side of this so thick? Oh well the AD said I’ll get used to it. I am really feeling confident that my place on the list is really solidified. I hope to get my brown datejust within 3 years!! Wish me luck!!

I can agree with your take as well, I’m relatively new to watches compared to other people, but I have seen most evidence of proper attention to detail to finishing with the Japanese GS and German A. Lange. Both are 5 figures but one has the whole package the other is uninspired by design as we both can agree. The Swiss have been lazy but at least compared to GS their priorities are straight in my book: first design then finer details such as finishing.

Which models are you talking about? I just scanned some of the cheaper men's size Reversos and Masters on their website and all have the new double-fold deployant.
The smaller women's models have a pin buckle because the single-fold deployant was discontinued.

That sort of sucks if it’s true if you like deployant clasps I guess. The entire industry is hiking prices and have been for 2-3 years straight. Nice watch but what good is a perpetual calendar when it only shows the current date and doesn't really show any important info otherwise.

I would like a watch that you could input a specific date into, and it shows the position of the planets, the signs of the Zodiac, the alignment of stars, something... anything that isn't just related to today.

Does anything like that exist (I assume it would have to be quartz)?

Frankly I can't think of a bigger cope than "muh Speedmaster went to the moon!!".
Not because of the competition against Rolex (I mean lets be real... Omega is like 5 times smaller than Rolex, and Cartier is now ahead of them sales-wise), but because of the state of modern Omega.
The company that built the moonwatch simply doesn't exist anymore. The continuity has been broken several times during Omega's history and what remained of the original company died in the late 90s. Swatch inherited Omega's name and patents, and has turned the brand into a parody of its former self.

I actually love the Speedmaster's design (I prefer the '57 version, with the broad arrow hands) but I don't want to be associated with Swatch in any way. They can't even make proper reissues of their old models for fuck's sake...

Non-moon cope right there. It’s ok if your watch is a bitch ass watch and never went to the moon, you can still wear and enjoy it. German watchmaker stowa as well as laco(lacher & co) and A. Lange & Söhne made the pilots watch the nazis wore under the war called the b-uhr. However they were huge and most of those movements would be inaccurate if you even got one to work today. If you want a historical piece the other anon gave you a link to an original. Be cautious that it probably is pretty radioactive considering it's a big watch with probably a lot of radium used as lume.

However if you want a newer made wearable watch I think the best option would be the stowa flieger in 40mm. Looks very authentic apart from the wearable size and how polished and new it looks.
https://www.stowa.de/en/Flieger+Classic+40+Baumuster+B.htm

Laco also makes some alternatives but the stowa is my favorite.

Due to our proximity to the ocean, we get our water from there. You'll find this to be true with many aquariums near an ocean. The system that pumps the water in is partially automated but its still useful to know where it js
For moon phases, we have a number of fish and corals who will spawn during full moons even though they can't see the moon. Also useful to know.
>Do you dive more than 15 meters under water?
Not even more than 20 feet but I can't complain about more water resistance.

Omega is objectively a better watch thats why. Why would I have inferior movements and less tough watches (rolex failed the very first test nasa gave it) when I can wear superior equipment? My wrist deserves the toughest watches, so only officially space agency certified watches are allowed. Pity flights and personal affects that were taken into flight simply don’t count. Only officially certified does. Rolex isn’t officially certified, hence it is not good enough. Omega, Fortis, Casio and Timex are, because they have the right stuff. Space is for winners, and Rolex lost. And only winners are put on my wrist.
