My dad always wore a Rolex and I always liked watches as a little kid. I had an endless succession of Swatches as a child.

As an adult the first """real""" watch I bought was an ETA 2824-powered Victorinox titanium watch, which was a totally reasonable piece of shit.
Then I bounced around all sorts of other brands from the Trinity to Seikos and back. I always avoided Rolex because I thought it was an old man's brand because my father wore it.
Then I remembered he wore a Rolex when he was young too and I bought mine.

It's not childish, my friend. I like them too. Remember that, in watch collecting, one must first hear his own taste and enjoyments (such as this leafs thing), and then listen what others have to say.
A very interesting idea would be, imho, to buy the Tissot if you decide you like it, and then contact a mod artist, like the dial artist (in IG) and get a budget o how much would he charge to draw white lines leafs on the dial.
