For me, it's between the new GS spring drives and the new GS mechanicals, but while I love the look of the mechanicals, there have been reports of teething issues (understandable, given the completely new escapement). So I guess this one. Oddly, despite being limited edition, it has a lower MSRP on the Grand Seiko website than the non-limited SLGA009 ("White Birch"). It's trading for significantly higher, though. I'm actually not quite sold on the shade of blue on this dial, but I can't dispute that it's objectively pretty.

I just realized with this picture just how much tag pisses me off. So they make the monaco in its original format, crown on the left, horizontal indices, no tag branding only heuer, but they fucking ruin it by making one of the subdials the running seconds instead of the 12h totalizer, while the modern monacos do have a 12 hour totalizer, they're ruined by having the crown on the right, non horizontal bar indicies and the tag branding. I'm ambivalent about the running seconds at 6, I could take it or leave it. I'd love to buy a brand new monaco but these cunts don't have one that fits my autistic criteria.

My dad always wore a Rolex and I always liked watches as a little kid. I had an endless succession of Swatches as a child.

As an adult the first """real""" watch I bought was an ETA 2824-powered Victorinox titanium watch, which was a totally reasonable piece of shit.
Then I bounced around all sorts of other brands from the Trinity to Seikos and back. I always avoided Rolex because I thought it was an old man's brand because my father wore it.
Then I remembered he wore a Rolex when he was young too and I bought mine.

It's not childish, my friend. I like them too. Remember that, in watch collecting, one must first hear his own taste and enjoyments (such as this leafs thing), and then listen what others have to say.
A very interesting idea would be, imho, to buy the Tissot if you decide you like it, and then contact a mod artist, like the dial artist (in IG) and get a budget o how much would he charge to draw white lines leafs on the dial.
That way you'd have something way better made than a rep, nice looking, and unique. Cheers.
