Here is the only watch which I own, served me very well.
I am happy I picked one of the best vostoks without even knowing half of what I do now about watches.
I am however still in the fence about the date mechanisms in watches, which is why I didnt pick a identical model of vostok with a date window along with the fact that until 4 days ago I didnt know what month had how many days, until I wrote all it down and noticed that july and august had the same number of days.
So I created a system for counting the months,in a way which shiws which months have 31 days and which dont, and it also works on only one hand simply from left to right.
And it works like this, count all of your knuckles, they are 5,count the spaces between then, they are 4 and then count the spaces in the left of your thumb knuckle and pinky knuckle, you have 6 and considering that july and august have the same number of days in them and you can begin to count them from the outward side of your thumb to the outward side of your pinky.
I am amazed I made that up all on my own, sorry for the blogpost I simply dont have anyone to talk to.

I agree, if anon is splurging all of his money on quartz's that are not sweeping seconds or hyper precision-based, then he needs to stop. Never spend more than 100 dollars for a quartz unless you know what you're getting into. Grail or no, automatics have become so cheap these days that 100 can get you a Bambino or Seiko no sweat, and have a watch that will actually last and not end up in a sock drawer a couple of years later. I am eyeing this one myself but have been trending towards the micro rotor instead, mainly because of the date window. One of the key functionalities of this GMT is that the 2nd hour hand goes under the primary hour hand with one of the buttons. If you skip that part then there's probably going to be a lot more options. If it's a hard requirement then you're stuck with that specific seiko.
What are you doing that requires such high WR?
For everyday stuff seiko 5's like that are fine.

Rolex moves ponderously slow in regards to market trends.
When everyone catered to the chinks and russians and made everything ridiculously large rolex stayed classically proportioned. Then they finally made all their shit fat. 2018 the market changes again and the chinks can no longer use rolex for bribery and other governmental corruption and all the brands that had ruined themselves by catering to these ridiculous tastes backtrack and start making watches 41mm to 36mm again. Rolex, again slow to change, takes years to adjust to the reverted tastes. Cashed up nogs will buy any gaudy totem that they think gives them status. This move is 100% because Xi cracked down on bribery "gifts" and so rolex, and the watch world as a whole, realized that their traditional markets of the USA and Europe don't necessarily share the asian predilection for oversized status badges for their relativity smaller wrists.
It's not a complete reversion, but proportions are no longer cartoonish.

Asians (chinkoids) don't have actual preferences when it comes to luxury. They'll buy whatever is considered chic and expensive in the west to flex on other chinks.
They won't even care if a 44mm watch is obviously too large for their 13cm wrist. They have no idea of how a watch should fit.

If watches are so large these days it's exclusively because of the American market, who has been for so long the most profitable for the Swiss luxury industry.
Now the thing with Americans is they are so fucking fat (they love sugar and McDonalds), thus they have insanely large wrists. If you put a 36mm watch on an obese American wrist it will look ridiculous. So watch makers have adapted to the amerilard market and started to increase the diameters over the years.
Now it's considered normal to have a basic 3 hands watch that is 41mm.

You can buy an aftermarket dd sapphire sure, but it's relatively costly and you'll have to pay someone to swap and violate warranty unless you can DIY. Bought a snxs77 and no aftermarket sapphire, annoyingly. Instead bought a $2 flat tempered glass watch crystal protector, like for phones but in small small form. Works fine. Actually snacked the crystal hard against a sharp metal corner recently and sacrificed the protector. Cheap replacment, easy application. If that seiko has a flat crystal then it's an inexpensive and convenient option for dealing with fucking mineral glass trash worst of all worlds.
