Any reccs for situations involving intense heat? I'd go with G Shock but it would melt and I'd rather not destroy a Rolex with heat either. I thought maybe an automatic watch since a battery can't withstand heat well but then I got thinking about the oil in the automatics.

Am I over thinking?

How hot for how long? You can boil a g-shock in water for a few minutes and its still fine.
Heat fluctuations like that would fuck an automatic. All the little moving parts would warp and flex and the temp changes would fuck with the beat rate.
Assuming this is for a job in a foundry or something just ask your coworkers what they wear

btw: you've got an average size wrist, so you can pretty much wear whatever diameter you like - though anything over 42mm might look a little big
probably a good idea to visit a jewellers and try a few different sizes of watches on, to see what you're happy with
and it also helps to know the lug-to-lug on a watch case, to help you know if it will sit on your wrist comfortably

As time passes, Omega is becoming less and less desirable. For a long time it was the best option in its price range (ie luxury sports watches slightly less expensive than Rolex) but now...
>Breitling is slowly getting rid of its mall shitter brand reputation
>Tudor has its own in-house movement with great specs (COSC certified, METAS certified, 70hPR...)
>Grand Seiko is now being distributed in Europe and in the US
If I had to buy a diver under 6k, I'd get a BB58 over a Seamaster.
A chronograph? Pic related over a Speedmaster.
A 3 hands tool watch? A GS over an Aqua Terra.
Omega isn't that desirable of a brand. They do a lot of cringe marketing shit and many of their designs are really bad taste.

Breitling is making some good watches but you didn't post them. It's the premier line. Tudor has image and design problems. Grand Seiko is good at what they do, but what they do isn't much. It's the same variations on two watches over and over, with some abominable chronographs/divers thrown in randomly.

It is perhaps one of the best examples of diminishing returns ever. The design and workmanship of a $50,000 watch is not 500 time better than a $100 watch. There is certainly a difference but there is an awful lot of flex and/or cope wrapped up in luxury watches. Remember Bill Gates is globalist lizard person and one of the richest people in the world and he wears a $50 Casio on the original (shitty) strap. Just get a "replica" for $500 unless you just have money to blow.

Rolex is a different animal. There's too much going on around the brand that makes it difficult to peg their value. A submariner is a good watch at MSRP. You're just going to have to jump through hoops to get it at MSRP.
