So I bought the parameme boots

Now my problem is that with EU size 44 (my vans and converse size) they are slightly too large for my feet which makes it decently uncomfy to walk in them.
I've already bought an insole which will be arriving tomorrow but I don't know if that'll fix anything + I wear crew sock.
Sending them back would be my absolutely last resort, getting them was enough of a chore.

They are also kind of big ass boots in general which I feel makes them look like clown shoes on me (5'9 175cm), do they?

>> No.17123131

Mainstream glued sneaker sizes are almost always way bigger than your "real" shoe size since lots of people have this obsession with needing to be the "biggest and best", whether it's concious or not, even when it comes to retarded shit like shoes sizes.
Assuming two pairs of shoes are absolutely identical in actual measured size, but one says 43 on it while the other says 46, almost everyone will take the pair with 46.
There's a lot of studies on this shit, it's a pretty big thing in marketing, and ultimately has lead to where we are now where shitloads of people, that have only ever worn mainstream sneakers, think they have a shoesize much larger than they actually do.

All of which is a lot of words to say, if you are wearing 44 Vans you should have probably bought those boots in like 42, maybe even 41 if you didn't plan on wearing thicker socks with them.
If you can't or don't want to return them you can try getting some heel inserts, they will cushion your heel so it doesn't get rubbed raw from all the slipping and shifting around in your oversized boots and add about 0.3 of a size in length to your feet which might help a little.

>> No.17123164

>>17123131
Thanks, that's actually pretty helpful.
I've already put a heel insert in the boot but I'm still shifting around slightly, helps with the rubbing though.
Returning would be quite the pain as I live in the eu and the boots come from the uk which means, to put it in a few words: absolutely fucking painful, long and expensive procedure.
I'm still considering it though as I would really love a slightly smaller and more well fitting pair.
Would you really say 41-42 though? 43 seems likea a much safer option if I plan to use an insole anyway, right?

>> No.17124005

I've been in your position before with paraboots (michaels). You should try to get the right size because you'll never be satisfied with the wrong size. And even with insoles, you might find them uncomfortable and clunky, like clown shoes, since most paraboots ARE clunky shoes.

I'm much happier since I sized down my michaels. The michaels are particularly difficult to size and most people recommend going a full size down from your regular size, which is what I ended up doing. I can't guarantee that rule of thumb works for those boots though

>> No.17124069

>>17124005
Thanks, yeah I'm genuinely considering it right now.
The fact alone that I had to put two fucking insoles + heel inserts into the boots for them to only kind of fit makes me not want to wear them at all.
It'd really help if I knew how to actually size them though, this anon >>17123131 for example said 42/41 but I'm kind of scared that they will be too small. 43 is an option but they could still be too large etc.
It's just pain in general.

How much space do you have infront of your toes when your heel is all the way as far back as you can go?
If it's under 1cm of space I'd try 43, if it's over I'd try 42
Not sure if there is real measurements of paramemes anywhere you can google, but if you know how big your feet are and compare with the sole measurements that might help too

Are you actually EU46, have feet that are 30-30.5cm long?
Because that's pretty fucking massive feet that will look very weird if you are less than 2m tall.
Chances are you "think" that's your size because sneakers that said EU46 fit you well before, when in actuality your feet are a lot smaller.

>> No.17124162

I'm 1,90 and I don't wear sneakers. Boots, dress shoes and all kind of actual shoes barely fit me at 46.

If you aren't buying generic mainstream sneakers none of what I said applies to you so I'm not sure why you feel the need to argue for no reason.

>> No.17124179

>>17124144
Well there certainly seems so be a bit of space but I can't quite determine how much it is, kind of hard to feel the exact position of my toes through the hard toe box.
As of now I would tend to choose 42 rather than 43 (just also measured my feet: 26cm) but still unsure.

>> No.17124234

>>17124179
>>17124144
More approximate measurements:

My foot is about 26cm long while the insole that comes with the shoe is 28.5cm long.
It doesn't fit a 100% tightly so the shoe is probably about 28.7 something cm long inside.
A size 44 should be about 27.3cm long and is therefore 1.4cm longer than usual.
If I now order a size 42 (26cm) and the same rules apply, the shoe should be 27.4cm long which sounds like a pretty good size for my 26cm long foot, right?

Am I making sense or am I missing something crucial here? Would 42 be a safe option or is sizing up by one to 43 smarter?

Try them both and let us know
Go into a shoe store and they will measure them for you

>> No.17124276

>>17124262
That's the problem, I can't try them both because shipping them to my country costs 40 bucks every time.
Sending them back will cost 40 bucks and getting ONE new pair will also cost 40 bucks even if it's a refund, means I'll have to get the right size first try.

>>17124536

>>17124606
Seems that I've ordered them two sizes too large.

The thing that I also just noticed is, that 44 seems to be kind of big in my vans and converse too. I find them comfy and all but there is quite a bit of space inside them at the front.
43 is probably closer to my actual shoe size than 44 is what I am trying to say.
God, sending them back will be such a pain in the ass.

I'd pay 40$ to ship them there + to get my new pair, still kind of expensive so maybe you're right.
I can probably resell them at a slightly higher price as they aren't that easy to get here.
Still would've lost some money but eh, that's life I guess.

Oh right, yeah I've seen you post about your fucking paramemes a few times on /fa/. I've thought about getting myself the exact pair as well but I'm from the UK which stocks them on Forces Uniform And Kit.

Maybe take a better photo but they look like shit in your blurry ass photo, unfortunately. Try pairing them with your skinniest pants to see how clowney they look.

Unrelated but thoughts on jungle boots? I got these recently as general wear for punk/bdsm etc raves but was thinking of getting some plain black combat boots too.

Man I'm broke, my cheap ass phone doesn't do good photos.
I've ordered them from fu-kit and the quality etc. is very good, even came in a nice cloth bag. If I wasn't from germany it would've been a great experience honestly.
I've already decided on sending them back as I really don't want to wear them with two insoles and heel inserts.
I do hope that they look a little less clowney when going down two sizes.

I think jungle boots are cool. I thought about getting them as well but it seems like they are even harder to find here for some reason + pricey.
They do look great though and you won't have to worry about your foot getting impaled anymore.

I'd definitely try to sell them online (possibly even at a markup) before returning them. Try german eBay, Depop, or whatever national equivalent you have there. I guarantee some raver or goth from Berlin will want them.

Love my pair of jungle boots, the OD canvas upper just really sets them apart from most other boots, and helps a ton with humidity. For a more casual, non school-shooter look, I've pondered getting the panama sole replaced at a cobbler for a standard vibram sole, that would probably also get rid of the steel shank and block of wood inside, that would make the steps quieter and more comfortable.
