We'll some people might think you look like a fag so the key is to not care what others think and you might be able to pull it off. Of course body shape, face shape, and hair style all play a role in this but you get the idea. Bikers wear leather jackets because they pretty much have to. The leather shields against the wind and also protects you from road rash in the event of an accident. It might seem a little odd for someone to wear a leather jacket when they don't own a bike so keep that in mind.

They're great. If you want one, get one. Get a good one full or top grain. Durable enough to survive a slide off a motorbike. Wear it. Get it wet, dirty, accumulate a few beer and blood stains, get it a bit scuffed up, crinkled. That's what makes them, gives it soul.
They're at their core a piece of equipment. Not something to be doted on. You wouldn't have a good set of chainsaw chaps for dancing. This is, I feel, why so many leather jacket fits fail. A cheap jacket or an owner whose too scared to wear in his fit.

no, its the opposite. black leather jackets age better because dirt is less noticeable if not completely unnoticeable on black, thus it needs to be taken to a cleaner rarely. Wear and tear is also more aesthetic on black than it is on brown. brown leather jackets look nice but only when paired with certain colors. black goes with literally everything. your picrel only looks aesthetic because its a very dark brown, any lighter and it would look like shit, especially with that wear.
