what sports are you referring to? the only one I can think of where the coaches don't wear suits is baseball (they wear the team uniform) and football.

I am thinking mainly of American sports like baseball and football. In high school all the coaches for other sports like swimming, soccer, wrestling, all weared track suits and visors. Basketball coaches always wear suits. Just seems set apart from the others in that regard.
