That depends entirely on how its applied. Makeup that makes the face underneath unrecognisable is almost always bad, as in the kind of shit you find in Essex in the UK. The best kind of makeup is the one most people will hardly notice but brings out your best features. Subtlety is key, unless being trashy is a conscious part of your aesthetic, in which case go nuts.
