Can you be anti capitalist and effay? I despise consumerism but all the coolest clothes are from designer brands

Fashion in communist states was actually quite traditional 1960's to 80s so yes, the modern blue haired retards are not actually communists but libs

>> No.15868785

I like timeless style made from durable, sustainable goods like leather and hemp. I feel like that’s the best way to decrease consumerism and fight throwaway culture.

Communist dictators have to pretend they don't care about fashion by wearing standard military clothes in the public eye but engaging in consumerism behind close doors. Castro is well-known for this.

you must be 18 or older to use this website

The HxC commies in my town only wear thrifted baggy/loose fitting clothes. Kind of introvert “writer“ type of style. Baggy black combat pants loose fitting sweater and under malnutrition so it works. Just look poor and you will be fine.

of course, just go full forest wizard core or dystopian feral human

Does hemp stuff feel good? I always imagine the material to feel like wearing a potato sack

Just buy from thrifts or recycle

Yes, just buy all the designer pieces you like second-hand. That way your money isn’t going directly to the fast fashion industry, and you’re saving clothes from becoming landfill. I know plenty of vegans who do the same thing- they won’t eat meat or dairy but will wear leather boots if they got them second hand from a charity shop or whatever.

You don't have a choice in what system you are born into. You can still participate while being critical of it, especially since your only other options is going to fuck off in the woods or dying.

Linen is made of hemp and it feels scratchier than cotton initially but it gets softer after every wash

Your average communist didn't really dress any different from anyone else in the past, it was the fascists/nazis who were larpers more than anyone else

>>15868814

Communism is materialistic and consumerism existed in nearly every ''communist'' society in some form, it just wasn't western branded shit most times.

Yes, you'll buy clothes anyways might as well buy clothes that you look nice. No ethical consumption under capitalism, etc.

Every self proclaimed Marxist i know is like that as well. They claim that they have to use Facebook, Twitter, Insta because there are no alternatives and use Amazon because it's cheaper but never admit to it. All of them are underemployed college grads who majored in fine arts, journalismus or the likes but still feel entitled to high paying jobs.

Being a major city, there are, of course, plenty of outliers and weirdos who will reflect slightly more indie (not really, of course, though they believe they're indie) fashions. Grunge resurgence, current alt-style stuff, etc. Often done to a decent standard, but still widely derivative and boring. Suitings plummeted too. In financial areas there's a uniform of sorts - overly tight synthetic black trousers, overly tight white shirt, silver-toned flimsy belt, cheap square-toed/pointy black shoes (typically with ugly orthopedic soles or garish coloured soles). It's dire, is the long and short of it.

Not really. Buying second hand leather is more Earth-friendly than buying a brand-new veg-whatever item.

The argument isn’t about the environmental impact of “vegan” consumer foods. It’s about the hypocrisy in a vegan who uses animal products at all.
