Hey /fa/
My autistic cousin's house burned down and now all his clown clothes have to be replaced.
The reason he had clown clothes was because his mom bought him a bunch of ugly clothes and threw out his decent ones.
Now I gotta to help him replace his smoke damaged clown clothes and make him look half decent.
He's skinny, balding, somewhat short, but he loves to laugh and smile. He also frequents /g/
Live in BC Canada. On the far left.
Where should we start? I was thinking the addidas outlet store cause we're on a budget.
Please help. I want my cousin to look cool.

We want clothes that don't stink already. Not to mention insurance will be covering it.

You’re not providing enough info. If you want him dressed to avoid breaking nudity laws, go to any mall store and buy shirts and pants. /fa/ ain’t your personalized shoppers.

Get him a bunch of plain, but well fitting clothes

if he doesn't care about fashion, he probably won't mix things well, just get him well fitting stuff that always works well.

This is the best advice, just get him basics.
I feel like BC is not really chinos and dress shirt weather, so go a little heavier.
Get him some levis 501s they're basic jeans that look good on almost anyone, and you could be probably find them for cheap from a store like Ross or TJ Maxx or whatever the Canadian equivalent is.
Get home some plain t shirts in colors like black, grey, and natural white, and then maybe either navy blue, hunter green, or maroon, depending on his complexion/eye colour.
Get him some basic knit sweaters, you can maybe play a little bit with patterns and textures, but nothing too crazy.
Grab him a few nice, actually thick flannels, if you can actually find some with decent colors/patterns. I feel like flannels are pretty normal and a good way to "fit in" in BC. Not sure what to recommend because I wear Pendletons, and they're pricey, but they can be thrifted in the PNW. I know you said no thrifting, but consider it for these.
If he's old enough to be balding, He should NOT wear hoodies, especially in if autistic.
A wool, beanie from the army surplus, because it is cold.
Adidas are not a bad idea if you're near the outlet store. Specials, Sambas, Gazelles, Campus, are all good choices. DONT get him the shell toe. (Autistic)
Try and get him a pretty plain coat or jacket (think the basic shape of a carhartt detroit), or maybe a parka, as long as it doesn't have too much ostentatious fur or "bubble" panels. I don't know what a typical winter coat is in BC. But you might find a decent one at one of those Ross/Tj Maxx type stores, or a Burlington coat factory if you have those.
Those stores are also good for getting socks and underwear at a discount, as well as base layers.
Lastly I'm going to recommend trying to get him a non autistic looking hiking boots, like. Danner Mountains or Danner Jags, they're waterproof/good grip, so with wool socks they're good winter boots, and maybe it'll inspire him to get into the outdoors.
Good luck.

situations like this are why you should have a google doc or some other cloud stored document with a list of all clothing items you have and their prices so that way you have something to show to the insurance company to get back money.
pics are super helpful too
