What's you budget? Non-solar non-sapphire Mudmasters can be had for 250-300€. It's big but who cares, you're not wearing it for modelling.

Otherwise if your budget is limited a GW-M5610 is the default option.
Or a baby G if you really want something smaller. Pic related is the BGD-560.

Utter newfag looking for a daily, not trying to spend a whole lot. I like the aesthetics of these, I've narrowed down to possibly these 5, or alternatively a SARV003. I'm a weeb so I do want the kanji day wheel, modding feels like too much to bother with at the moment if I were looking at one that doesn't have it already.

These are all around 200-300 excepting the alba in the bottom right, I included that only because it's already a bit scuffed and I wouldn't mind wearing it at work if it were to get a bit dinged up. Please dab on my/help me decide which is the best choice from these, I'm possibly retarded and just want to know if it's stupid to be getting into watches like this.
Ideally I'd only be buying a couple of nicer ones aside from the daily, but who knows at this point. I'm just looking at one for now.

I guess I could always change out the strap if I felt too dressy. I'll be in scrubs so I would probably want a less nice looking strap if I'm not going out somewhere.

I've got a few old mechanical watches that need fixing. Two of them I'm pretty sure just need a once-over and a demagging, but I'm not sure if they're worth it because they're a pair of old Lucerne digitals like pic related. Is it worth the "wow" factor to start a conversation, or are they better kept as curios?

I also have an old Pobeda that I know is worthless, but it was a gift from my dad and I want to get it fixed. I dropped it years ago, and while it will wind up and run, the mainspring feels like it's either broken off or jumped out of place and no longer bottoms out. Even if the mechanical parts wear down, the regulator will compensate for the lack of accuracy.

yes, but practically.

the spring drive is a true glide. It does not have a beat rate.

however the Zenith Defy Lab beats at 108,000bph (15 hz). It is more or less a true glide to the naked eye. This is 3 times what the GS hi-beat functions at. And it is accurate to 15 seconds a month, same as the spring drive.

the constant wobbling from the oscillator also makes my eyes hurt
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSMjUsHwDRA

and also not that show piece styrofoam aluminum nonsense
>>15856039
not as soon as you'd think
>Unlike a conventional balance mechanism made of about 30 components, the new oscillator is a single, monolithic skeletal disc 0.5 mm thick. It's made of monocrystalline silicon coated with a layer of silicon oxide worked to tolerances finer than a human hair by Deep Reactive Ion Etching (DRIE), which uses plasma make deep, precise etchings.

>the geometry of the disc is broken up into a pattern of vanes and springs along with two tiny teeth that transfer forces back and forth between the oscillator and the rest of the movement. Three blades act as springs while shorter blades create the rotational force that turns the watch's gears. Meanwhile, another set of blades dampens any vertical motion.

>The makers of the Defy Lab say that, unlike a balance, the oscillator needs no lubrication, balancing, or calibration and is insensitive to temperature gradients, gravity, and magnetic fields. It beats at 15 Hertz with an amplitude of +/- 6 degrees (opposed to a conventional movement's 300 degrees) providing an accuracy of within 0.3 seconds per day. For comparison, a chronometer certification requires an accuracy of 10 seconds per day.
>This frequency is so fast that the watch has a permanent-running seconds hand and, despite the high frequency, the movement has a 60-hour power reserve and it remains accurate even with 95 percent of the mainspring expended. In addition, the Defy Lab has chronometer certification by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures, meets the ISO-3159 thermal standards, and ISO-764 magnetic criteria to 1,100 Gauss.

Yes, 90% of skeleton dials look ugly anyway. The Zenith Defy is really impressive but they need to put it in a watch that looks good. People meme on Grand Seiko for the massive proportions but the watches themselves are beautiful while Zenith is slapping this insane movement in mall shitter tier designs.

you've got a good tool-styled watch that you can beat up a little, and a cool dress watch. your bases are well covered already. so if you want another "cheap shitter", it should be an unusual accent piece. something fun and colorful. a sport or dive watch could also work, but still I feel it should stand out more.
