Just got my new Borealis tropic strap. It feels fantastic, soft and flexible without feeling sticky.
Now i just have to wait for some spring bar tweezers to come in so i can get the bracelet off. It's fit too snugly to get off with a regular spring bar tool, or I'm just to stupid to do it.
From what i have read back in the day if you bought a sub and didn't get it on the bracelet it would come on one of these.

It honestly depends on your level of autism. There is a certain level you need to like mechanicals otherwise you just get the retard spam asking why people buy a watch more than 500 dollars. With mechanicals I like the autism it must have taken to figure out the math and machining it took to make such small parts in the early days bc I consider myself stupid and could never figure that out. With quartz I like how companies take more chances with designs and technology even though some are piss ugly. Watches are fucking stupid and a waste of time but there’s still something about them that makes them fun, like women or men or women with penises, whatever you like.

The rehaut is painted black, which looks fine in person and doesn't bother me when I'm wearing it. And i don't love the look of the bracelet, i wish it had female endlinks, but it's very comfortable and has a nice compact clasp.

The Cal. 321 has a window of about 16 seconds, and the Cal. 861 and 1861 is about 12 seconds. If you have a trusted watchmaker they can adjust it into a reasonable +/- if they know your habits of wear. Or you could do what I do and just reset the minute every week. It's really not a problem given that it's a manual-wind watch Anon, and lots of owners rotate it out with other watches, so resetting and winding are just normal procedure.

Yeah it's more expensive but silicone attracts dust and lint and gets nasty, you will have to wash it all the time.
A cheaper option that would look good is one of these floro rubber waffle straps from aliexpress.

It looks better in your later photos it seems to drastically change size every time you photograph it. I was lusting after the blue dial 36 for a while. I've been collecting about 7 years, so I've been around. I thought about the GS for a year before buying. I use to buy £300-400 watches, Seiko turtle.

My posts look sort of bad here as of late, this year I've sold 5 watches (most expensive being the Stowa, 3 x st19 watches and a laco) I thought the £1000 mark would be better and I could be happy at that price point, the GS made me have a rethink everything. My collection is in a funny stage, I don't mind trying cheap watches, I gave the whole ww1-2 watch design thing a try this year. Reverso and El Primero have been long term grails along with the speedy and sub. The GS is just beautiful, I'll keep it the rest of my life, like the speedy.

The Reverso I will be buying next year, I want to enjoy my 5 watches but the buying / thinking process starts now for me.

beats per second? the higher it is the more likely to achieve better accuracy. but it all depends on the watch maker putting in the effort to adjust and regulate it.

a stark example is the latest Seiko 8L high beat variant that they put on some re-issue limited edition watches. some people are saying they get +10 second per day accuracy, same as the 28k bph version, which is crazy for something that beats at 36k bph.

That's a day-date (there is a weekday at 12 and it has a president bracelet) and they are significantly more expensive than a datejust.

You can count on Citizen making pretty much anything Seiko made in very similar styles back in the day. There's just not that much good information available on vintage Citizen compared to Seiko.

Accuracy by itself is dependent on the quality of adjustment. High beatrate helps it maintain that accuracy in use (recovers better from all the tiny swings and shocks) but if it hasn't been adjusted well, it won't help much.
