I got a layered / textured haircut at a salon back in the summer and kept growing it out.

Then I tried to dye it blonde on my own with box die, didn’t lift the color that much so I moved on to bleach which got it a lot lighter but still straw colored. Then I went to a salon and got it properly bleached and toned, took like four hours and by the end my hair got pretty crispy and is still in sort of bad shape.

Still warmer than i would like in places, but I keep it somewhat in check with purple shampoo and conditioner, and quality moisturizing shampoo and conditioner as well. And I’ve used up a tube of reconstructor since coloring it to make it a bit healthier.

As far as styling goes I don’t do much. I either towel and air dry or use a blow dryer if I am in a hurry. I use different light gels sometimes to keep my hair from falling in my face.

I rub a thin layer (not too much) into my palms and then work it through parts of my hair and tease it where I want lift / texture, focusing on my bangs and part to get it out of my eyes And the sides to get a more layered appearance.

Lately I’ve been using a leave in conditioner spray type thing and work that through my hair to help with flyaway hairs and dryness from bleaching.

I brush it a little bit when I need to but I prefer a messier look. I tease my hair a lot and it takes a while to look the way I want it to after a shower because it’s so dry and fluffy. I only wash it like 2-3 days a week which is kinda gross but yeah.

I’m sure there are better products to get the look I try for and I’ll take any suggestions someone wants to throw my way

For light hold, anything at the drugstore will suffice. Back when I wore a pompadour, I’d use got2b glued. Kept the hair looking the way I left it in the morning.
