I had those boots when I was in the army. Id suggest wearing straight or tapered fit pants with them. Either use boot blousers, roll them into your sock, or pinroll them.

The problem with American sizing is that for a tall guy who isn't a fatass the length will be good but the shirt is extremely baggy. What's nice about the Bundeswehr OD shirts is that they're long and form fitting.

If you're really worried about it buy 2 sizes and keep the one that fits, they're dirt cheap.
