im 24 and have diffuse thinning on the top of my head. i started buzzing about 4 months ago. best advice i can give is if its your first time, start at 7 mm, then 5, 3, etc literally the shortest that you can do with your head shape. clean shave, all the time. the beard and buzz look is overdone. if you have glasses: circular frames are more complimentary i feel. the people here are right, the rectangle frames with buzzed hair is a bad look anymore.

If your hair is already thinning, it would be way better to just shave it now than to do it as a last resort when it gets really bad, then people won't really care when your balding reaches a threshold that it would be otherwise unignorable. Getting rid of it by choice is a way better look than doing it because you've exhausted all other options.

There's also weird juxtaposition because yeah, it's less 'attractive' than a full head of hair but it's also more masculine. I started doing the buzz over quarantine and weirdly enough, even with lockdown I've met slightly more women than before and I wouldn't even say I'm that attractive. I think it really helped with my self image because when I had hair, there comes a stressful opportunity cost that styling it one way is potentially worse than styling it a way that could benefit me more. With next to no hair, you are forced to accept yourself as you are and in a very real way, I've never ben more at ease with myself.
