I'm going to post the correct advice because others can't. If you can't thrift, I recommend making the clothing yourself. Good fabrics are easy to find anywhere, and if you don't have a sewing machine, luckily sewing (by hand) is pretty easy to get into.

discount department stores. they sell new name brand clothes that arent being carried anymore for a fraction of the price. i think ross is a nationwide one in the us. my pants are all 20$ each roughly, wear alot of white / black plain tees from walmart layered with 15-20$ jackets and shirts. only thing i shell out any extra on is shoes and even then ill hunt for the coolest pair for the cheapest price. always nike / addidas for me so never that cheap. did just cop some new all white af1's for $60 though, see them online for twice that. unironically just go to poor people stores lol

this. the best part of plain clothes is theyre cheap so when they look worn in a few years theyre very easily replaced. you know you can always find plain clothes and theyre going to be cheaper than more nuanced pieces and more things in your wardrobe will match. everyone should have a foundation of a simple every day color palette that matches most everything they own. usually black/gray/white or khaki/brown/white. then you can worry about buying more intricate shit youll wear a few times a year and have a wide variety of a base of clothes to match or layer it with
