Nah, that's martial industrial, pretty close, but not exactly that.
Martial Industrial is basically a sample-based DAW-produced march music combined with spoken word and noise-ambient drones. Neofolk relies heavily on these passages (usually as intro/outro tracks) to pour in some atmosphere. But the core of Neofolk is actually traditionally written acoustic songs.


If you came from a folk-metal background I would recommend check out Of The Wand & The Moon

I’m not too familiar with Forseti, or Darkwood, and I wouldn’t have thought to call Coil neofolk, but they are great and certainly fit the bill not least because they likely inspired artists like Tibet and Pearce.

Rome is also very famous. I’d imagine you’ve probably listened already if you’ve ever asked online for neofolk recommendations, but I still have to say I’d imagine Rome would be of interest to you considering your taste in Martial Industrial. I think some of Jérôme’s songs can be a bit cheesy and clunky, lyrically (songs like “The West Knows Best” for example), but I still enjoy a lot of his other stuff. His use of sampling (like the planes in Fliegen wie Vögel, or the drums in “Who Only Europe Know”, to list two other songs from the same album) I really like as well. If you don’t end up one of those super self-serious neofolk fanatics, American artist King Dude is also worth listening to. If you don’t like his later macho rocker stuff, his first few albums have that apocalyptic and atmospheric touch which I personally prefer. He has collaborated with the now very famous Chelsea Wolfe, whose earlier stuff is in the Apocalyptic Folk realm. She’s now very famous, and her more recent work is more frequently in the metal and electronic realm.
Destroying Angel was another American Neofolk band whose output I enjoyed.

Another I haven’t seen mentioned but that I very much like is Kiss The Anus of a Black Cat. Though I find his later, electronic, stuff to be mixed poorly and make his vocals feel out of place, his more acoustic albums, including Hewers of Wood And Drawers Of Water, An Interlude To The Outermost, and If The Sky Falls, We Shall Catch Larks are all excellent.

Lot’s of people seem to like Sonne Hagal or In Gowan Ring. Not favorites of mine necessarily, but worth listening to if you’re diving into Neofolk music. Same with The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath A Cloud.

Lastly:
Cult of Youth is a band I never tire of. They’re only arguably Neofolk and have gone on the record as saying they’re more just a rock band. Even so, Sean Ragon is heavily inspired by DIJ. I could not recommend them enough. Iceage is another, albeit much more famous, punk or rock band which has members inspired by Death In June.
Spiritual Front has also been listed before as Neofolk. I don’t think this is an appropriate descriptor, but I do like the band. Because they likely share an audience with some Neofolk bands, they are worth mentioning.

Anyway, those are my recommendations / opinions.

Sure, we can have eco measures in the government on our current society but that does not mean we'll actually be able to avoid the enviromental mess we're bringing to the world, quite the contrary actually
Being a industrial society, and a capitalist one that is, we'll be forced to constatly increase our consume as society gets more advanced and more people (thus, consumers) are born. Speaking realistic, we all know ecological measures are unable to contation this amount of evergrowing consume. A better approach would be to target the production itself.

The worst part is that this same ever-growing advanced cannot mantain itself if not by a slow process of restriction of our individual freedoms.
We're in a era where stress and suicide rates are massive, urban centers are overcrowded, the media is not trustable, our food is far from healthy...yet we'll accept all those conditions because we can get all kinds of entertainments this same system brings. He wrote his manifesto in the 90s yet we can see some effects he predicted already.

One could argue that this is just speculation but the same applies to the concept that the advancement of society's ecological measures will outgrow our consume and the destruction of the environment
