>Most of the movement is made of plastic and is designed to be self lubricating, calibre 2250 was named Autolub but was also known as Astrolon and Sytal. The only metal parts are the keyless works , balance and mainspring barrel. As a Skeleton wristwatch Tissot cleverly reversed the normal layout allowing the balance to be seen through the dial. Tissot also developed their own shockproof system and lessened the parts from 91 for the average watch to 52 with some parts of the construction automated.
>Sealed hermetically the idea behind the IDEA was to have a mechanical watch that was cheap to make needed no servicing and was an affordable option for the customer. The early 70's was a heady time for Swiss watchmaking and the industry was about to undergo some radical changes. The Neuchatel Observatory chronometer trials had just closed. The first auto chrono wristwatches had emerged. Pulsar had plans to launch their LED in the spring of 72 and LCD was on its way.
>At the onset of the quartz revolution Tissot must have hoped they had a winner with this funky affordable Swiss timepiece but history tells us it failed. The (SEIKO) quartz juggernaut rolled over the Swiss industry leaving a trail of destruction, so much so that a mere 7 years later SSIH was in deep financial trouble. ASUAG ( Allgemeine Schweizerische Uhrenindustrie AG ) was also facing liquidation. ASUAG was the worlds largest movement maker and parent company to GWC, General watch company. Desperate bankers forced both companies to merge in 1983 to form BAKA. In 1985 Nicolas Hayek the executive that oversaw the merger made the company private along with Swiss bankers and private investors. The initial restructuring coincided with the birth of the Swatch watch.

They're expensive because retards keep buying them regardless of how much they inflate MSRP. They are outclassed by so many chronographs in 2020 that it's borderline ridiculous. Redd*t tier nerds buy one after they get their first real man's salary and think they are somehow associated with NASA and advanced engineering by wearing one. It's a bad joke, the entire thing. Yet faggots will continue to buy them all the way into actual luxury watch price brackets.

Sistem 51 is worse. That tissot isn't exactly bad as it wasn't made to be disposable. Sistem 51 is regulated once through some convoluted process involving a laser at the factory and then that's it, it can't be regulated again without hassle but you'd probably be throwing that movement out and chucking a new one in by then anyway.

I really really dislike display casebacks.
Also this watch is pretty sexy overall but it's too bad they decided to be lazy and put such a tiny movement in it.
This is a 36mm stowa and they put the ETA 7001 in a 23mm movement

I don't think they should be used at all but if they must they really shouldn't be in on anything lower tier then a. lange & söhne.

Its towards the top end of my budget but fits all my wants

Automatic
Super clean minimal look
SS bracelet
200m WR
Crown guards (clumsy af & like how it looks)

The 856 has the tech you would like, relatable to Damasko, but the 556 is SS and thus more casual with more bling, for a daily wear, I also think the Damaskos are thinner in the same segment, the DS30 is ridiculously thin.
Damasko prices are hard to beat if you dont opt for the meme bracelet.
Between the DA36 and 556, you will have to listen to your heart...and benis.

I would love the 856 however can justify that much to myself atm. Maybe in a couple years time but I'm going back to school. Vwoild be my first big boy watch after orient/tisell

Few feet and you are fine. The internals are highly magnetized though, there is a big magnetic ring on the back of a subwoofer. You can drag a screwdriver across it to magnetize it.
