There are no real rules for what you can and can’t wear in /tip/. All that matters is that you come from the right background. Live in the Northeast? That’s /tip/. Go to a prestigious college? That’s /tip/. Have an aristocratic physiognomy? Daddy’s trust fund pays fur your living expenses? That’s /tip/. As long as you fall into this social class, you can wear pretty much whatever you want, and simply the fact that YOU are wearing it makes it /tip/.

It's not just this though, it's the cut of the lapelles, and the sleeve height, Italian slim cuts have thin sleek lapelles, and just mainly use less fabric than a classic British or American style suit. There is nothing wrong with a more snug fitting TIP suit, but it's other aspects that will judge whether it's TIP or not. I personally don't like the look of overly large lapelles, but the very dainty tiny ones aren't that appealing either.
