Brown is a very easy dye to apply to yarn. It's been associated with the lower class since antiquity because of this, was later used by monks and then in military uniforms. As such it became the unoficial color of the outdoors, along with khaki and green, so "no brown in town" was coined. However, brown was pushed heavily in the 30s and it became common to see men in brown suits, especially in America where the outdoors association was starting to fade. I assume brown was considered old fashioned after that point. However, since dress codes are so relaxed now, just being in a suit is enough to gather compliments. For me, brown is the third color I'd choose for a bespoke suit, one in light brown for linen and one in charcoal brown for flannel or tweed. It's one of the easiest colors to match and looks good on anyone.

Tweed jacket - Light Gray or Charcoal? See pic for color examples. Just getting opinions.
So far of three people I've asked two have said the lighter one. Both were women incidentally. The man said darker because it goes with more fits.
note that the pic is being posted for color examples only, ignore the cut and style.

Cmon man. If you knew anything about /tip/ you'd know that Japan is absolutely killing it when it comes to /tip/. In fact if you go to the brooks brothers website in Japan they actually still sell different variants of the traditional sack jacket whilst the one sack jacket sold in America has been out of production for YEARS. I'm a bit short (5'8). Some of my longer ties just don't fit me well, but they're not so comically long that I want to get rid of them.

Definitively, where should ties fall relative to your belt? I was always told just at the top of the belt - is that wrong?

I bought a Harris Tweed jacket via ebay. It's in excellent condition, so I'm very happy about that. It is my size, but pretty wide though. Holes at the sleeve are pretty big as well. Can this be because it's from the 80s? I think it will work best with a sweather underneath it, but that might be way to warm to wear to an office (casual clothes) or indoors. I'm not a fan of the padded shoulders. I much prefer the/ivy/ unpadded shoulders look. Yours look more eurotrad to me. Still you do you m8. I wouldn't listen to anons who suggest taking the padding out. A good quality jacket will be tailored with the shoulders padding in mind and removal of these will generally fuck up the balance of the garment and ruin it.

It depends from person to person, but for me it is 1 black captoe oxford , 1 brown Oxford or derby with brogues, 1 brown derby without broguing, 2 loafers and 1 monkstrap. This is the basic complete wardrobe, you don’t need to buy all at once. I would try to buy only Loake/Berwick/Meermin or better, if possible.

Was just wanting to know where to tailor the chinos on my Clarke desert boots.

At the top of the boot and they look hipster core. I'm thinking just the slightest of breaks, or full break?

Sorry for low resolution photo, am technologically challenged.

You're a plebbiter, aren't you?
Let's put aside your gay, boring style of writing which is very typical for a plebbiter who just wants to seem like a friendly guy, an approachable guy who loves self deprecating jokes (yes, you wrote very little but it really does say a lot more than if you would have written a lot), wide hips, somewhat soft looking body and messy room which probably reeks of wet dogs or bleach, what the fuck are you doing with your fit? You are the embodiment of r/navyblazer. If you're not a plebeian/plebbitor, you know what you did wrong, if not, lurk more or piss off back to plebbit where your kind fester as not to be seen in public.
